It will, have faith. Pointless changing our system now, the key is improving it. I have had a vision in my head for a while now about Nathan Dyer getting our first goal. I think the problem is at the moment we're building slowly and this gives players time to let the enormity of the "first goal" seep into their head. My vision is Nathan Dyer skipping past two or three players, a quick give and go and he's in... no time to think, he goes around the keeper fleet-footed, and before he knows what he's doing he's planted it in the bottom corner, and the Swans fans erupt!
hope u r right , for me i would love to watch mr dobbie hit a cracker from 25 yards but at this moment in time couldn't care less who scores
Musty, with all due respect. We've got this far playing with a lone striker. Why should we change now?? We're not set-up for 2 out & out strikers!!
It's all about clean sheets this year in my opinion. If we can keep this clean sheet record going, we only need to score a few goals to get a few wins. Our game is built on patience, which is sadly lacking with alot on this board. It's really important that we keep to our formation and style, because let's face it, we are one of the favorites to go down, and I would prefer going down playing our style than changing our style and going down anyway. We have to accept that this is a transitional season for us and if we don't stay up, it's hardly a disaster for the club. We would be prepared to have another promotion push in the Championship, and would still be playing the kind of football that would interest quality players to come and play for us. I don't remember any side coming up from the Championship playing football like us, and if we change it now, it would undo a lot of hard work put in by players and staff over the last few years.
Good post!! But we do need to evolve our current game all the time. We don't want to get continually found-out in an attacking sense!! We've got to try different variations of personnel in the 4-5-1/4-3-3 formations we play & mix it up!! We need to pick-up the tempo, especially at home & not solely rely on the wings. Varying it through the middle, getting decent crosses in & getting more attempts on goal are a must..... KTF!!
Company box (isn't it 'corporate'?) for a Swansea Uni media student? Nah, don't think so. How's the girlfriend? LOL. Back to the thread, we are creating plenty of chances but I am starting to get very worried about Danny Graham. His confidence looks shot to pieces. He needs to start scoring, and soon. I'm sure that once he gets off the mark that'll do him and us no end of good. Baggies game is a good place to start.
Agreed SWAF. We need to improve our attacking game to be scoring goals. Like you said, the tempo and variation of our attacks is not quite right yet, but unlike some calling for a change in formation and personnel, I trust most fans can see we are doing the right thing by persisting with this approach. P.S. KTF???
please log in to view this image Can't fault a word here, and agree completly, on the subject of subs, think Rodgers needs to ring the changes at 60 minutes, as Musty makes a valid point, no player can do much with ten minutes!............ please log in to view this image
"no goals and second bottom" - After four games, the league table is really not at all important, let alone the number of goals that we've scored. The season is a marathon, not a sprint; just ask Blackpool fans.
just listen to every professional football pundit and they all say we need to score goals or we dont have a hope in hell,.....what did Alex do when Rooney when through the barren spell he had last season.......He took the pressure off him and put him on the bench for a few games and then put him on as sub when he thought the time is right......rooney scored within 5 minutes and he never looked back....I'm sorry but to persist with danny in the hope he will score is costing us very dearly and if we carry on it could very well end our season in 4 or 5 games time where we will be a quarter way through our season, you cant mess about in the premiership as if its not working then try something else, time is of an essence in this league and 4 games is far to long without a goal.....
We had 22K in so wouldn't exactly agree with that statement, look at it another way we had that crowd for a game against the bottom club.
I commented on that above sussex, Swans haven't had a home league crowd over 20k, we haven't had one under 20k.
all our games are sell out's with 5,000 on a waiting list for season tickets, if we could get 30,000 in, we would.
All ifs and buts doctor. We have over 20k you say you could have over 20k. As to the sell out comment, if you have a small enough ground you'll always sell it out. You shaould plan on reducing the capacity so you can sell it out next season in the championship as well. It's like your posession stats, the potential is there. Still think you'd be better spending the £12M on a couple more strikers.
stop panicing musty. we have only scored 1 goal and we are 11th. hope you lot stay at least 3 places below us but i am sure the goals will come...for both of our teams
eternal optimist kiwi until the maths say we can't make it, i think the first goal will result in a goalrush against wba
