...was class, really good stuff. Gerrard saying he's glad he stayed and he understands now that winning stuff here means more than anywhere else. Carra's take on the Nani tackle was great, and Gerrard was really honest about Torres, didn't just give it the usual soundbites and said he felt let down, and only Torres knows whether he downed tools or not these last few months.

It was really good, funny in parts too.

Steven Gerrard understands that winning trophies with his beloved Liverpool would mean more than anywhere else.Yes he could have won more and earnt more with Chelsea. But he has no affinity to them.
I reckon even Wayne Rooney feels a little bit of emptiness that he's not winning trophies with his beloved Everton and is a little bit jealous of Steven Gerrard that Gerrard got to captain the club he loves to the European Cup.Even though he's won it himself.
Only 3 players in the UK have captained the club they love to the European Cup.Their home city club.Billy McNeill,Phil Thompson and Steven Gerrard. And unless Newcastle,Cardiff and Denmark are suddenly suburbs of Manchester,no Manc has ever done it.

Paul Scholes was born in Salford, which is greater Manchester. Hole in your theory or have I made a stupid mistake somewhere?

Paul Scholes never captained Man Utd in the European Cup final. He was suspended in 1999 and Rio was captain in 2008. Other than that, a perfect argument... <ok>

Gary Neville was the club captain in 2008, but didn't play the final after a long term injury. So like KPR says, not the same as actually being on the pitch to pick up the trophy.

So that proves my point.Phil Thompson born in Liverpool,Liverpool fan picked up the trophy in 1981 as captain.
Steven Gerrard,Liverpool born,Liverpool fan picked up the trophy in 2005.
Billy McNeill Glasgow born,Celtic fan, picked it up as captain in 1967.
Ryan Giggs was captain for Man United in 2008.Since when was Cardiff part of Manchester.?

Err, wtf are you talking about? Rio Ferdinand was captain for United in 2008, Giggs was an 87th minute substitute.

Your point is valid, but then I doubt Rio ever wishes he'd won the CL with Millwall. And given that Giggsy lived in Manchester and was a United fan since the age of six, I think he's just as happy to have won the CL with us as Carragher and Rush were with Liverpool. Or do you reckon Jamie Carragher secretly wishes he'd won the CL with Everton instead?

Actually Billy McNeill was born in Bellshill and not Glasgow which is a town originally by itself. It was not made part of Greater Glasgow metropolitan area till the 1990's.

Rio would rather he won the Champions League with Millwall.
Why on earth would he have an affinity with Millwall when he's from Peckham,East London, and his nearest club is the one he started his career with...West Ham.
The proof is no Manc has ever captained a European Cup winning team. That must hurt.

Not a closet united supporter by any stretch of the imagination but if your trying to kid yourself that they cry themselves to sleep over something like that when they have been so much more successful than you in other areas then you are kidding yourself mate.

Cos Millwall is the nearest club to Peckham, and he played for them as a kid three years before he played for West Ham. Do you know anything??? Or is your mouth just a hole to stick your foot in whenever it's convenient?

You know what must really hurt? That no Liverpool manager has ever been knighted for services to the game, and the only Liverpool player to be knighted was given the honour due to his service to Man Utd. Compare that to Sir Matt, Sir Bobby and Sir Alex and you see the gulf in class. And it's only a matter of time before Sir Ryan and Sir David join them. Not to mention Sir Ole who was knighted by Norway.

They didn't just put it down to the fans, they said it's a happier place and everybody now loves coming into training every day and when you carry that into games it shows in results. They also said Steve Clarke has had a very big impact. They said they weren't surprised by Kenny as they know him well and whenever you speak to him you can see how knowledgeable he is.

They also said that if results don't go well, it will be the players getting it in the neck now and not the manager because Kenny is loved that much, which is true.

That's probably going to be the biggest impact of having Dalglish back - having a manager the fans all support. The players effectively admitted that they didn't try hard for Hodgson, probably cos they realised that if they played ****e the fans would blame the manager rather than blame them. It even looked a bit like that at the end of Benitez' reign - too many players not trying hard enough for the club.

Now they now that if they slack off they won't only have to face an angry Scotsman, but an angry Scotsman who willbe supported by angry fans. That could be a more potent combination than any new players you bring in...

Now tell me which clubs did Matt Busby play for again.Which club did he captain.?
Yeah thats right. It must be really really embarrassing for Manchester United to have a statue of an ex Liverpool skipper outside their ground.
And we all know why Ferguson got knighted it was for two reasons. One was for funding Labours election campaign and the other was for pulling down Tony Blairs pants and shoving his cock up his arse.Fergusons knighthood was the second most undeserving knighthood ever. The first was Bobby Charlton. As far as I'm concerned they knighted the wrong Bobby,it should have been Moore not Charlton, after all Bobby Moore was a world cup winning captain.Charlton was no different to Roger Hunt,Alan Ball,Nobby Styles.Martin Peters,Gordon Banks.Oops I forgot, none of these played for the media darlings.Charlton was a good player, but nothing special. He's tackling was as bad as Paul Scholes',His passing was dreadful,In a nutshell he was a 1960s Frank Lampard.Even George Best said he was a prick. And a bigger brown-noser than Emlyn Hughes. And Emlyn Hughes was a brown-noser.

Answer my question. What the **** made Bobby Charlton any different to the likes of Roger Hunt,Alan Ball,Martin Peters,Nobby Styles an Gordon Banks and Jack Charlton. They all played in the same team.Where are their Knighthoods.?Did he captain the side oops that was Bobby Moore.Did he score a hat-trick.No that was Geoff Hurst.Who was deserved his knighthood. What the **** did Bobby Charlton do to warrant a knighthood.I'll tell you what he did,he played for the media darlings.Man Urine.

You all worship Kenny Dalglish and claim he's some kind of hero and yet his success at Blackburn was primarily down to the resources Jack Walker gave him. He took a good Newcastle side and made them crap and the least said about his time at Celtic the better.
