As I understand it the back wages over 5 years equates to something like £200k per season. If you accept a crowd of around 7000 x and average of £15 per person that gives us receipts of somewhere about £2m and a bit. Take off the bit for the back pay then that's around the straight £2m mark left. 20 players at £2k per week is around about £2m. £2k for league 2 is a fair wack and not what a lot of clubs could pay. I do not accept that other clubs have that sort of revenue or at least not many. As for Brent doing what he said he would do then yes I suppose you could argue that depending on which words you are taking. He said he wasn't about to pump in millions which is fair enough. However he also said that Argyle should be in a higher league and he would do what it takes to get them there. Now what exactly does that mean? Over the next 10 years or quite what. How much did he actually fork out for Argyle in the first place? Well the club got £1.7m for the ground when it was sold to PCC. At the pitance paid out to creditors, how much of that was spent. I cannot see where, although I accept I don't know all of the facts, he has actually spent anything out of his pocket at all. This isn't re-writing history, it is based on information in the public domain. I have nothing against Brent as such. But I will quantify that by adding the word YET. If he wants to make Argyle self sufficient then he has to attract people to the ground. I cannot see what he has either done or is doing that will do that. Only a decent run will attract more or even keep the ones he has. The way it is looking that looks less likely every week.
