Decent bend on Walker's free kick, accuracy as well obviously but it wasn't even the best free kick of the season. Cabaye's free kick against us was better, just sheer pin point accuracy, Lindegaard was right underneath it and got nothing.

Cisse just nicked goal of the season from Crouch for me, both wonderful goals but I hate the football Stoke play and I see Pulis dining out on that goal for years when confronted with the question of his ugly football tactics. Probably given it too much thought. They should both win!

Cisse's was just ridiculous. I doubt we'll EVER see a goal like that again.

I was saying only a day or two ago that Crouchy's was definitely nailed on for GOTY and no other strike this season will better it... I wonder if there's yet another surprise round the corner? (Friedel - Scissor kick volley from the half way line into the top left hand corner in the 91st minute vs Fulham to grab us 3rd spot after Arsenal lose to WBA? We can dream!)

I wouldn't go that far. One hell of a strike though.

    Id say

    1)Cisse (2nd)
    2)Suarez (near half way line)
    3)RVP (Volley)
4)Crouch (biggest hit and hope you're likely to see....although still stunning)

Number 5 - I'd say was this forgotten beauty by Coates

Rooney shinning it in against Man City was the greatest goal in the twenty years of the Premier League? Please, it wasn't even the best overhead kick MUPLC scored last season...

i saw this on SSN earlier HBIC. - totally disagreed with it too.

they've also got a goal of the week going which consists of:

Torres v QPR (take round the goalkeeper)
Suarez v Norwich (half way line)
Di Santo v Newcastle (floated chip from edge of box)
Sturridge v QPR (outside of the box after 46 secs)
    Walker v Blackburn (Freekick from 25 yards+)
    Cisse v Chelsea (1st)
Modric v Bolton (half volley from edge of box)
    Cisse v Chelsea (2nd)

voting stats looked like this (as of about 2 hours ago)

    Torres - 2%
    Suarez - 24%
    Di Santo - 0%
    Sturridge - 1%
    Walker - 4%
    Cisse - 12%
    Modric - 2%
    Cisse - 55%

How the hell has Suarez got such a high %?! - it was good, but Di santo must be thinking "what have i gotta do?" 0%!!!! absolute joke.

I wouldn't pay any attention to those things, Roo.
Scousers always rig the **** out of them, for some reason.
Raul Mereiles won PFA Player of the Year last season in a similar thing, ffs.

There's an article on Yahoo that debates whether of not Cisse's second was a fluke. I don't recall any articles asking the same question when Rooney shinned it in, but Rooney is white and English...

Well if you asked him to repeat the goal, could he do it? i mean how often have we seen a goal like that? this isn't to say its a fluke as when the ball dropped to him he struck the ball in a way that he wanted to curve the ball over the cech, instinctive finish so ill say he meant it but can see why some would say its a fluke.

I agree. Also, if he didn't mean it, then what did he mean to do ??

He meant to shoot, so he meant to score. I think the issue is he clearly thought he'd sliced it or got it wrong, I'm not convinced he meant the curl one bit. If you watch the clip as soon as he hits it he starts to move back to a central position, then when it goes in he quickly changes direction to celebrate. Not taking away the fact that is was a spectacular goal, just think it had a big element of luck involved. His body language clearly shows he was surprised himself!
