Bit of a thorny subject as we're the only side in top 11 with a minus goal difference although Cardiff also gave a zero difference....

However it's a tale of 2 halves so to speak....in the 4 defeats so far we've scored 1 and conceded 10 whereas in the 6 games we've won we've scored 16 and conceded 8......that's very ok in my book...the team looks full of goals and goal difference only really becomes an issue in May....

This is developing into a very enjoyable season....

I might be alone here, but I want us to finish a position or two below the playoffs this season. We’re a good year or two away from being ready to go up, and I don’t want expectations to be set too high, by the players, the board or us fans.

So I’m happy our goal difference is a bit poopie!
I agree, 7th or 8th would be a major achievement that would make me happy, with the same sort of improvement the year after, well....

You are not alone. I would be happy for us to finish just outside the play off places too.

I would be elated (and I know selfishly a little disappointed) to finish just outside the play-off places. Especially after my expectations to finish middle of the bottom half.
Enjoying the season so far - long may it continue this season.

I’ve still got a bullseye at 10/1 on us having a top 6 finish so I most definitely DO want play offs :)

I'd be delighted to finish outside the playoffs, which would be a major achievement given the last few years. I'd still be even happier if we finished in the playoffs, or better yet went up. Never 'too soon' to go up in my opinion, as long as you are very prudent when you do go up. We can't afford to turn down those parachute payments given a choice!

Early days I know but I'd happily see us go up even for 1 year, keep the same squad, get relegated with a shed load of cash in the bank, then go again and aim for an instant return keeping the squad and management structure in place....essentially do what Burnley have done and not panic along the way....

No your not Houston, we are not yet ready for prem & get slaughtered week in week which I didn’t enjoy last time mainly inep managers mind you, I’m with you one or two seasons

Why would no one want to have the excitement of the play offs. Even better goal difference wont matter when we win the league! There are a lot of very average teams in premier league take the opportunity if and when it presents itself. (personally I actually quite liked league 1 for different grounds to visit)

Promotion or a promotion fight might give us a stronger chance of retaining our better players. Aim as high as possible always.
Totally agree. I find it hard to beleive that if we are in a position ahead of the final game of the season where a win will take us to the play offs, some of our fans would want us to lose the game, the chance of millions for the Club, risk losing our best players and the chance of playing at the top level in England. If we are promoted from the Championship, we will be ready to play in the PL next season. Simple.

Bit early to even think big imo plus our club would more than likely **** it up again anyway. I am happy to think stay in the championship it’s where we naturally sit

superb calm football being played at the moment and as our defence and midfield tightens it seriously does look good

I know what you're saying but we get competition money for the playoffs and, if promoted, get millions. It's always worth a go trying to get into the prem, even if we get relegated (as we'll get millions for going up and for coming down).

100 million pounds
relegation clauses in contracts
possible parachute payments if we drop again
chelscum at home
full houses
whats not to like

Would we still be allowed to watch games live via website live if overseas? TV rights might not allow it. Got to look at the negatives. Or is that not the phrase?

I can't decide on this one. Of course I'd love my team to get promoted, but on the other hand, I don't want them to get relegated. If this means a year or two finishing 7th-10th I'd be happy.
