May not be of interest to most. So apologies. It’s however great practice for my left handed, one fingered typing <laugh>

Following my cycling accident on the 30th October I was back to HRI yesterday for removal of the post surgery dressing and 60 staples that had held everything together for almost 2 weeks.

I now have some small amounts of finger movement which is a huge relief to me :emoticon-0165-muscl:emoticon-0165-muscl the positive side being that by the time I make recovery I could well be ambidextrous.

Cycling helmet played a significant part in ensuring I am still here today as it is cracked on the side. This was caused by double head impact with the car and the road. Fortunately the old coconut only had a bruise to show.

The nursing staff at Castle Hill (had my first Physio session there this week) and at HRI yesterday I cannot speak about highly enough. Each and every one absolutely incredible. They are performing their roles in what must be hugely stressful times with Coronavirus being so prevalent in Hull. Yet you wouldn’t know, they just crack on regardless. They truly are health care professionals in every aspect.

Good to have an update & better still to hear you’re on the mend.

Get your skid lid on EBay ... 100% guarantee that it works.

Absolutely agree with your comments regarding the hospital staff. They’ve been looking after my old Dad for nearly three months at HRI & Beverley. Each & every one of them have been wonderful.

I'm just off out pedalling GLP.... into the wind, so I'll swear for an hour and a half and then enjoy the back wind coming home. I guess you'd still rather be out win your bike today than sat mending...

Skid lid is retired now. It’s literally the best £150 I have ever spent. I don’t think I’d be here today if I hadn’t been wearing it.

Psychologically I’m not sure when I’ll be ready to get on my bike again. I’m a bit gutted as I was so close to hitting my mileage/km goal for the year. I still haven’t seen my bike yet, my mate has stored it at his house - I think it needs x-raying as it’s Carbon Fibre - it could well be structurally compromised.

Ive come off mine 3 or 4 times in my cycling 'career' when someone has checked I'm ok, the next question is 'hows your bike'....
