The church burning going on here in Canada is definitely linked to the finding of unmarked graves on First Nations lands. These incidents are shocking but are virtually all being carried out on catholic churches on reservations by residents of those specific communities in anger at what the church inflicted on their peoples. Nobody can condone these acts of violence but the authorities will look the other way when it comes down to acts of arson in fear that they will be accused of profiling based on ethnicity. Last year there was a case where a fish factory and warehouse was burned down and although there was indisputable evidence, including CCTV, who carried out the arson nobody has ever been charged. The anarchy will continue if we don't stop pussy footing around and jail the perpetrators as you would anyone else. On a side note the Province of British Columbia is on fire and no rain anywhere in site which doesn't bode well for the rest of summer. A rain dance is clearly needed but no comments please.
HUMOUR or PITY? need to careful, as "long covid has untold consequences" and you should not mock the afflicted, as they may not know they had Covid ….! ah ….. … played ice hockey with walking sticks [ best alternative to the real thing ] on the pond ice must have been 9" thick? [ ICE floats mostly or forms on the surface { icebergs although of ice are compressed fresh water, so slightly more dense than sea water, so not all of it on surface, as the water column underneath supports the weight } so figures that the medium on the surface of the water, ice was solid enough at 9" thick to support peoples weight ] so nothing to do with me......
