Also just had the email offering 20% discount on Adidas and there are no items in stock that are in the sale that we have wanted yet!
I can't help but wonder is this another scam and Adidas will be replaced at the end of the season by a new supplier ?
Guys our commercial dept, has always been a corner shop mentality, it wont change any time soon, it's how it is!...................
Where have I said that history don't matter? You like swamp are putting words in my mouth aber, lets stick to the facts hey ?
Gentlemen, if shirts sell out and can't be restocked then that is an Addidas issue, not Swansea City FC.
Have to disagree there, Swansea City decide on how many shirts they order so the fault lies with them. We sold out of shirts last season so with this being of centenary season they would have ordered more. It's a fine line on quantities, but knowing the leadtimes on production, think they do two orders per season and basically after ordering the second batch of shirts would have thought this was even as early July/August, then thats it until a new kit launch.
No they don't, Addidas decide how many shirts are produced based in the how many have ship to suppliers and base that against how many are returned. If a new company takes over, like Nike, they get access to the data from Addidas. Kit supply is left to the manufacturer, not the club. If the club store runs out then that store notifies Addidas and then must wait until Addidas makes the next batch while the sales increase is noted by Addidas ready for the next season, which will have a larger manufacture order in place automatically. This is how it has happened for decades at all major clubs and it is not as if Swansea are the first to run out if stock. A friend of mine couldn't get a United fleece from their megastore for weeks because they ran out of stock, these things happen and Addidas, or any other, manufacturer are not going run themselves out if business by over producing everything for every club. That would just be bad business.
stop fretting the commercial side is run well to the maximum, we don't know how things work and they do....they know what they are doing and the reasons why...
Bit different to buying a fleece than buying a club shirt..in any size other than xxxl !! not the first time this has happened, if adidass arnt doing their job properly then its up to the club to put them straight. simples. There is no excuse for running out of stock so early though i understand the clubs point of view.
you are wrong. the club have put out a statement on another forum stating they decided how many shirts they ordered this season not adidas. they have underestimated simples.
if you go by previous sales, then add say 20%, and are left with 5% sell them on sale, as long as a profit is made on the leftovers. cant see the swans getting relegated this season so surely ppl will want a shirt if as someone mentioned the cost is unrealistic however as also previously pointed out, ebay is cheaper
I just love the tagline on the email "get yourselves kitted out for the Capitol One Cup". As they are out of stock of all clothing (unless your a super fat bastard) What do they expect us to do stick mugs and ****ing snow globes on our heads. Ridiculous!! considering the offer is only on for 3 weeks, stock levels aren't exactly going to change. Very poor!!
And another thing why show the new reduced price along with the saving then when you go to the sizes they are all out of stock. Surely they shoul donly show reduced prices on those items that are avaiable. I think the same person running the commercial side of things probably designed the website, very busy when you firsat look at it but hard to find any content when you enter. I suppose the upside is at least I have bought next years Xmas prices for 2/3rds of the initial price. Snow globes all round for The BAP's family 2013!!!!!!!!!
The club put a statement on a forum ? Come on they don't do stuff like that, if an official club statement is going to be issued it would be on their website and to the press, not some random forum .
I think there is some "official type " thing going on there Jager, not sure if its via the supporters trust or something. there is also one member of the club on twitter who gives his views which apparently was " should have bought a jersey in July" that doesnt exactly help matter does it? it also re-enforces peoples views that the club are small time on this subject matter. Having a sale when there is nothing to sell is totally taking the piss IMO, ok there may be a couple of items on offer but not alot! as long as people dont try and pay for it with a card they will be ok!! 3 people walked out empty handed when i was there because we were told "there must be a problem with your bank" ... In fairness to the girls they didnt mean it in a negative way, they just didnt have a clue what to say.
