Rubber im glad it s not just us that is having teething problems, i know both clubs have grown immensly these last 8yrs but as wages and professionalism has increased on the field it looks like it hasnt off the field, to sustain one thing you must have the other, both things go hand in hand for me .

Its not good to have nothing to sell when your only half way through the season!! there may be a wembley trip for either club and we all know people will want to but club merchandise if that happens, and if it did happen people will want it in thousands . Its a crazy situation ! <ok>

jager is right when he says we have just come through xmas and demand is exceeding what we can supply, Its not easy to predict how much money we should lay out for merchandise and with hind sight we should have ordered much more..Its good news in a way and shows the swansea city brand growing much faster that the club predicted and now they know the demand is out there they will adjust their merchandise accordingly...It shows how popular we have become all over the globe...

I agree with you but have a look around the league and see how many other clubs supplied from addidas have run out of stock. none. I just think it is a shame that there are so many people wanting a shirt but cant get one.

My son had 2 keepers kits and the away shirt and had to wait for xmas fo r the home one. But none there, that was in november, so no home shirt for him this year. Just think there is a small time attitude to certain parts of the club and we need to move away from it quickly.

Are you saying that the club didnt expect to sell extra stuff over Xmas ?? even i know that the shelves need to be full at that time of year and as i said earlier there were no correct size tops for sale in October let alone Xmas !!

Its a difficult one i know, the club are trying to be prudent and thats what we expect but at the same time they have to get the experts in at times like these, i get the feeling that the club wernt aware of how the demand was going to go but didnt investigate the situation any further. You can understand them getting it wrong a little bit but getting it wrong so badly is a serious mis calculation and an embarresment really.

I don't see it as small time i see it as demand is higher than was expected and that shows that the club underestimated demand, I would rather them sell everything than over order, dont forget shirts will change at the end of the season and i expect the logo will revert back to the original and we don't want to be left with out of date stock...

But Dai dont you think not being to buy shirts with over half a season to go, (none in November). Is a lot more than an underestimate. It is a catastophic error by the comercial side and they need to take a long hard look at themselves.. Yes shirts may be left at the end of the season. But with times being hard, there a lot of families who wait for the sales in order for their kids to have a swans shirt.

Have a look at how many other PL clubs have sold out of shirts.

I dont think we will be left with out of date stock tbh !!

Yes its a difficult one, but there is still alot of time between now and the end of the season..moot point anyway, as the club are not ordering anymore shirts until the new one comes out in the summer!! if we have an amazing second half of season and gain more intrest then people will not be able to buy into the Swans clobber as there wont be any, which ever way you slice it up that is bad for buisness and means we are losing money and not utilising the world wide market we have worked so hard to reach !

Surely as well the club need to look at where the shirts are sold. 2 places Debenhams and the club shop. We need to go with all the other PL clubs and allow other outlets to stock our merchandise.

Another way to look at this is, would any other premier league side run out of stock ever ? Think having Ki in our side has ensured that our sales have shot up in the Far East and its had an effect here. I should imagine that stock meant for here as been sold there.

You are taking the word of a shop assistant as gospel, didn't you call them brain dead in the thread or words to that effect ? How do they know what is planned ?

This is an ongoing problem though, when the new shirts were brought out. (Iam not sure whether this or last) they sold out within days in june. they werent expecting any more in till i think it was september. This is again the same old story and keeps repeating itself. It is time HJ takes a long hard look at our commercial department and sort them out. I believe the swans are going to loose thousand this year because of this. That is without Korean fans also being unable to get Swans shirts. I just feel we need to think just a little bit bigger.

What also doesnt help id the attitude of the vice chairman dineen, saying on twitter. That people should have bought in july.

No i didnt call them Brain dead,i said that they had great brain power to remember all seats were sold and no returns made for Reading away as they didnt bother checking on the computer!! anyway, that was when i was refering to the ticket office not the club shop

Jager, which ever way you slice it you get the same answer,im not taking a shop girls voice as gospel at all though it can be beleived the evidence is there for all to see, we have a leading time of re-stocking of many months that means the season will more or less be over before new shirts arrived,by that time the new designed shirt will be on its way , what ever way you go with this argument it comes down to one thing. nothing in the club shop in December/January !!

Many people want to stick up for the club on this one and i understand that but lets be honest here, should a premier league football club with a worldwide audience and massive exposure be sold out of the very thing it needs to spread its Gospel ?? Im sure there are a few high up at the swans who arnt at all happy with this either, it was obvious from day 1 the shirt would be a best seller so why wasnt closer attention paid to re stocking alot sooner? did somebody walk into the stock cupoard and find there was only 2 boxes of kit left over a few days back? why arnt we paying close attention to how are sales are going?

Why dont the club put up on their web site that shirts are running out and can people place a pre-order?
Why dont the club take out an advert or do a survey to find out what the demand is going to be for kit in the coming months?
Why didnt the club do a preview to a selected group of a thousand to gauge the opinions of the design of the new badge/shirt?

Im no marketing person but all that seems basic stuff to me, they have got this one terribly wrong and what will happen as a result is people wont bother shopping there in the future as they will think its a pointless exercise!!
With all the information outlets around these days its a crime to not have your finger on the pulse of sales, there is twitter, facebook, club website, message boards and newspapers all of which the club could use to gauge how many potential sales remain.

I made this exact point earlier Trunds and nobody bothered to take me up on it!! last seasons shirt was as much of a fiasco !! what was learned from that embarressing experience? nothing !!
So for the last 2 seasons we have the exactly the same problem with getting kit out to potential customers! that tells me that the club are either not doing their job properly ,dont care or have not employed the right commercial brains to take us forward!

It means the same thing, the club lose out on money, the fans lose out on shirts and merchandise and everyone gets pissed off with the small time planning of a world wide buisness!

We aint selling our stuff to people that listen to Swansea sound now, we are selling our stuff all over wales,uk,europe and the rest of the world!! somebody needs to get a grip! if they pay an expert in marketing and sales 100k a year to put this right then surely its worth it? remember how your first football shirt very often gave you an afinity of that team for life ?? well ,we are potentially losing out on alot of fans over this, which aint great when considering an expansion to the stadium !

I have checked other PL clubs shirts and from what i can see we are the only club that can not offer its fans a shirt at this time. Poor.

As I said earlier, is there any premier league club with sold out on its doors/website

Norway I am not defending anyone here, but you've got to look at it as the whole picture, so that means from the club's perspective as well as the fan perspective. Yes its a poor show for our club, and its unforgivable its happened with us. But you are assuming nothing has been done in the last few months in regards to this.

I know I had a jersey from the swans shop for christmas amongst other things, my missus went there and bought up a load of other tat as well ;)

    Just hope its remedied soon

Well that sums up how small time we are in this department. We are the 2nd or 3rd smallest team in the prem league but seem to be out selling Man utd in shirt sales...<laugh>

To be serious for a moment, which ever way you spin it we have fallen well short in club stock. How are QPR doing for kit ? they have a korean guy there too ! did all their stock go overseas or did they anticipate this and print extra shirts to cope.

This whole Korean Ki thing bugs me to, if the club were tracking him before Laudrup was manager then they would have known there might be the odd sale should he sign. A word with celtics commercial department or the club itself during talks would have told them what figure to expect in korean sales with ki written on the back of a shirt. There wouldnt be any confidential info that celtic would want to hide im sure, it could have been informal and a rough guide so that we knew what to expect.
