Bored of mentioning this bloke now.

For a long time he has been living off what he can offer and the financial difficulty of replacing him rather than what he has actually been offering over the past 18 months, I.e., not a lot!

Flanagan been our most consistent defender this season? Didn't see that coming at the start of the season <yikes>

Agree about CBs... It was that ocean of space in front of our goal that let Palace in. Both Skrtel and Sakho were liabilities last night. Skrtel, despite being told by the ref numerous times was concentrating on play fighting again which distracts from the actual task of DEFENDING and Sakho looked like a little disorientated baby foal.

I actually thought Johnson was pretty good, but then the inevitable happened. Attack him and he becomes a liability. The whole team folded under pressure - defence lacks a leader. Sakho is only 23 and will get better. I'm not a fan of Skrtel and as Frank said, his goals make him seem better than what he is. He's the best defender in a team that has conceded a shed load of goals? He was also Player of the Year in one our worst years in the PL? It says it.

Having said that, it doesn't help having two immobile players who cannot defend against pace and directness - Gerrard and Lucas. Lucas will surely be sold in the summer. And without Gerrard's penalties and set pieces, doesn't offer much from open play.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - the defence don't deserve any credit this year. The attack have literally carried us.

Glenn Johnson has been poor for years, he is a headless chicken. If he makes it to the world cup it will be a disgrace.

Johnson wasn't that bad last night.

Overall, he usually is one of the weaker links in our team- but I think he get's more flak than he deserves.

No he doesn't deserve the large wages he is on- that could be better spent- but it's not like he's Cissoko useless.

I've never been a fan of Johnson, his defending has always been suspect and I'm not a fan of defenders who aren't good defenders. I don't think it helps that out 2 poorest defenders play on the same side of the field, the majority of the goals we concede seem to come from down our right.

I hope we see Flanno replace Johnson at right back. Would like to see Wisdom get a run in preseason friendlies at CB before we decide to sign a new CB
