Rodgers has been pretty bold so far with Reina and Carroll. If a piece of the puzzle stops fitting he will rempove it. But he will also make the position safe first.

i think DR has it right, when he's on form everything is fine. when he's not on form he is the worst f'n player going. for the last 3 games he's been dire.. more probably but the last 3 have been spectacularly lazy looking.

he needs dropping i think. we need to play someone in his position for about a month to get him thinking and also rested.

the thing is bar going to usa or say some arab team there is nobody going to pay him.. he is nuts at his age not to sign up..

Hugely unfair to lump them together, imo.
Skrtel may have his faults, but his commitment and passion are not in question. I never have a go at a player for limited talent, no-one can help what they're born with, but effort and willingness are something we have control over. Johnson just looks like he can't be bothered, and that's unforgivable in my book.

I doubt you meant get rid of them for the same reason, I'm just pointing out that I would keep Skrtel for as long as it takes to get a better, settled, central pairing, because his commitment to the cause has value in itself.

    Christ, you're annoying.
Stop trying to hi-jack every thread. Either make a valid contribution or go away and play with your Christmas toys.
Surely you've got batteries for them by now?

yes it was for dif reasons saint.

cant argue with Skrtel commitment just sadly his skill, 100% effort but unfortunately i think he is going to start being punished for a lot of shirt pulling he does, others get away with it as well but don't see him having that luxury now sadly.

we are poor at the back regardless and just think new players and ideas needed, bit like Germany biting the bullet and looking to the future with younger players.

make a good squad player though ;) just wages be bit high for a non starter.

He won't get away with it because the media have started making an issue of it. If it makes him concentrate on the ball it might actually improve his defensive play, who knows? (We can hope).
If they do start to pick up on it, then I hope the refs do the same to other, similar culprits because he's not alone. I think it's just that he's so blatant about it.
I'd much rather have him in the side than Johnno though, I just can't see what he's bringing to the team at the moment.

I've never been a fan of Johnson as a defender but his attacking ability would help compensate that. As others have mentioned, on his day he is a real asset.

Take away that attacking threat, he becomes a really average player. Unfortunately, we have not seen that threat for over a year now.

He has no intelligence, dwells on the ball, poor reading of the game and now he is unable to pass 5 yards.

Approaching 30, on over £100k a week - time to move on or at least get competition in, and then drop him.

With good reason. He was the player of (an admittedly dire) tournament for England during the Euros, and he's been exceptionally underrated at national level for the past five years. He has been **** this season though since he came back from injury, the Fulham game apart.

He's like an irritating little kid that keeps kicking your shin for attention when you're trying to have a conversation amongst grown-ups.
Finding him an annoying little scrote isn't the same as being wound up in the way he would like.

I thought he started the season well but lately he has been a total liability in defence and I think its a bit of a myth that he is good going forward. He doesn't get very many goals or assists for someone that is supposedly so good going forward.

I would get rid in the summer.

Back 4 have been weak for a while now. Ideally I'd like to see Skrtel, Agger and Johnson be sold but that is not viable as: a.) Squad is down to it's bare bones as it is and b.) replacing 3/4 of the back 4 in January won't work out. I think a dominant CB in this window and then look to replace Johnson in the summer.

have you never taken a little kid like that and made them cry by all gathering round and making a ****e of him... laugh in his face and call him names followed by a good wedgie? grown ups should never be above putting kids in thier place.
