This Every premiership fan would know that Chelsea have had the largest wage bill since Roman A and City since the oil sheiks but the scousers have spent lots of money without winning the league even once. P.S Just announced City made the biggest loss in premiership/football history: £197 million , followed by Chelsea then the scousers.
Possibly, although if you look at how our wage bill moved over time the biggest jump was from 96 to 97. Wonder how much of that was the agents of the kids saying "Right, we've won the PL now, we want the big money". I doubt we paid £6m in wages to Cruyff and Poborsky!
