I'm surprised this post hasn't been removed due to it's fairly obvious homophobic nature(the p.c brigade on here have been known to react to this sort of slur).The article you refer to is some historian saying that Churchill 'May' have been gay?...Whether he was or wasn't will undoubtedly never be established so it's supposition and should be treated as such.

One fact I'm fairly sure about Churchill though,is that without his courage and tenacity,we may well have all been fluent in the Germanic tongue,In which case you may well have been labelling him a 'warm Bruder'

Which was why I posted it.


It being a topical example of the unsubstantiated nonsense the gutter press spew out on a daily basis. It wasn't an attack on Churchill, rather on the 'historian' (it was Charlie Higson FFS!) who spouted such drivel.

I can't believe anyone took it seriously.


I mean I suggested flicking acorns at John Peel's dog as a reasonable thing to do in response to John Peel's alleged 'crimes'.


That's obviously a ridiculous thing to say.





I doubt his dog's still alive.

It’s all about context and you seem to have completely missed the context on this occasion.
 
All in all, it was a good weekend for music. Not the best Glastonbury I remember, but it was a good one nonetheless.

My fave sets (in no order):

Jeff Goldblum and the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra (yeah, seriously, it was really enjoyable stuff imo)



There's plenty I still have to catch up on too, so hopefully there's something great I missed.

Yes they do and quite often no they don't are the two answers.

Camping gear can be relatively cheap these days so it's no big deal just to leave it behind. From some discussions with a site clean up company, the standing tent may have been used as a toilet or thrown up in. He said they do get to save some tents but not all.
 
After watching Black Mirror on Netflix recently one of which featured Miley Cyrus I ended up watching her set...Quite an eclectic musical mix covering Led Zep, Metallica, Nine Inch Nails to Dolly Parton's Jolene and an appearance of Ashley O from the Dark Mirror programme...I quite enjoyed it for its entertainment value alone...oh and Vampire Weekend were good as well.
