There was widespread belief last weekend that Katrien would be thrown to the wolves to appease us peasants, and I have to say I was looking forward to another classic public information reléase from the club 'years of fine service....' ' always looked to the needs of the fans......' 'sadly unable to turn down the offer of a post at Ebbsfleet' 'thank her for her unstinting efforts and wishe her well...' etc etc. But who cares about that? The fact is her sacking probably would have bought the regime some breathing space, but Roly has all the space he needs as he never comes to our matches. The protests would have lost a little steam if she'd gone, but a 'mad in Belgium' replacement with identical views would have pitched up immediately, and anyway, look how effective the fans friend, Richard Murray has been in convincing Roland to change track. If she'd gone it would have been a victory for the fans, but I am convinced it would have been a pyrric victory, like the sackings of various managers.
