But the signings were good enough; the money was provided; the manager had full control of team matters and above all he enjoyed full support (well 95% anyway). The Boardroom was united; we had 2 full seasons in the EPL behind us and everything was focused on progress. We finish the season in some turmoil; a split fan base; rumblings in the boardroom with attacks on missing fans and an owner less than impressed by the managers own words. You can say I make stats sound as I want them but they are the full picture? How does no wins in 14 or 1 win in 11 sound when they are 2 seasons in a row? I concede that Bruce isn't going to be sacked and we will have to hope I am totally wrong mate. I don't want to be standing here in 7 months time saying "I told you so" because that means SAFC are struggling. However, I think SB has been given a fair shake and has failed 2 years running to improve the club. If I saw glimmers of light I'd happily cling to them. All I can see is us being OK to Christmas then throwing the towel in again from January. 4 of the last 6 years have gone thus for Bruce and its not good enough IMO. PS - of course I'll be singing the mangers praise if he does well. Whats the problem with that? Its SAFC I support not individuals. They come and go. If Bruce does well then SAFC do well. What makes you think I don't want that too? Success is rewarded with praise and failure with a kicking. Thats life in any job.
