Giroud scored a hatrick for France today. The first player in 17 years to get one.

Got me thinking what people's opinions are at the moment on Giroud?

Do we keep him next season or move him on and replace him?

He's made an important contribution this season, mainly from the bench. And if he's willing to be backup I think he's a really good option. Heard some rumours he might be looking to move on though?

Excellent squad player. If he wants to leave, I doubt there are many clubs out there who will match the wages we pay him, so he will probably stay, gets plenty of game time anyway.

You'll struggle to find another game-changing sub who can have a similar impact as him. Allows you to completely switch tactics and is a handful for defences to deal with. His goals must've earned you at least 9 points this season.

No need to move him on. A good squad player that offers an aerial big man up front threat. He's a good consistent player that will return around 15-20 goals a season depending on form. It's in his best interest to stay as he won't get a better club than ours and we seem to struggle at getting quality CFs.

Only sticking point will be his wage demands if there are any.

Keep him. Good player and gives us different options. He's got a good goal scoring record for Arsenal. There are other players to move on, but not Giroud.

Giroud is an excellent player. Great in the air, decent finisher.
He's just always been below that 'World Class/Top' level.

I would keep him for sure. Add a striker who can take on players and make goal for himself.

Giroud and Aubamayang/Lacazette. That's what we need. Two very different centreforwards.

If he wanted to leave he shouldn't have signed that new contract! As it is though I think most are in agreement. Shouldn't be our starting forward but an excellent squad player/plan B.

Giroud being linked to West Ham.

Seems bit too good for them IMO. I could see him potentially having the best Season of his career next year as he has been looking sharp for a while. Would be good to keep him.

Inconsistent, good at everything great at nothing. If he's happy with a rotation role then keep if not cash in.

Out of all the possible forward players that could be sold (not including Sanchez), Giroud should be last on the list. Behind Sanchez, Giroud is our second best forward. You have Walcott, Welbeck and Oxo that should walk the plank before we get to him.

    Agree, Giroud needs to stay.

Oxo had a decent season though, and was brilliant against Chelsea in the final. Welbeck also started to come back to his best after injury too.
Walcott though, he needs to be sold. He's had over a decade at Arsenal and even cutting him some slack because of injuries, he's never really lived up to expectation.

I see Liverpool are about to spend £39m on Salah. I'm sure we can milk them for another £30m for Walcott :)

Although in reality Walcott had a better Season than Oxo, Wellbeck or Giroud.

We don't utilise Walcott properly. With his pace and finishing ability he would be a real weapon.

Giroud is 31 in September and he has a contract to 2019. He isn't going anywhere. Any press about him is absolute bollocks

He wants to stay to be honest and he should get plenty of playing time even with Lacazette in the team. It would be a mistake to let him go as he is a fairly consistent performer.

Giroud is good at defending set pieces apart from anything else, we don;t have a lot of that in the squad

Thats becuase our side is soo small. It concerns me a little that we seem to be looking at Seri & Lemar both are really good players but we are going to be very easy to score against from set peices (like several Wengers sides in the past have been)

I think a Van Dijk/Kondogbia or a Carvalho would really balance the side out.

Would it be worth playing a 3-5-2 - with Sanchez in the No.10? Would allow us to play Lacazette and Giroud

    ------------------------Cech--------------------------
    -------Holding----Koscielney---Must/Mon------
    Bellerin-------Xhaka-----Ozil---------Kolasinac
    -----------------------Sanchez-----------------------
    ---------------Giroud----------Lacazette----------
