Giroud is fine. https://mobile.twitter.com/_OlivierGiroud_/status/378959468387901440?screen_name=_OlivierGiroud_
Yeah I'd be very happy with Rooney. He'd fit our style and could play up front in the Giroud position or as AM. I think it would be good for Rooney too... he's stagnated at utd and always looks grumpy nowadays.
Wenger said he's looking for an out and out striker, not someone who can play behind the striker, which is why he didn't go for Jovetic, he said we have quite a few of those players already at the club like Podolski etc. Plus Rooney wants to play as a striker, not an attacking midfielder, and when it comes to attacking midfielders, we have the best attacking midfielder in the world in Ozil, so why'd we want Rooney as an AM over him?
Messi plays as a striker rather than an attacking midfielder. Ronaldo plays as a winger-striker rather than an attacking midfielder. Ozil is the best player in the world at his position. :-D. Players in Ozil's position are the likes of Iniesta, David Silva.
So what are they? Barca buy players like Eto`o and Villa as strikers, Real have people like Benzema and Higuain as strikers, how do you think they class Ronaldo and Messi?
Then why the need for Villa, Alexis etc, Ronaldo plays most of his game deep in midfield and just happens to have the happy knack of being there to finish off many of the moves he starts.
Got it, they score goals so they are strikers no matter where they play (FALSE number 9 and all that) nice one Brendan
So you are trying to tell me Ronaldo and Messi play as ATTACKING MIDFIELDERS for their respective sides? You are an idiot and a WUM
No, you are trying to tell me they play as strikers. I don`t wum except for a laugh where the people i am wumming usually are aware and bite back.
Messi and Ronaldo do play as strikers, if Ronaldo's not on as a striker and say Benzema is playing, or previously Higuain, Ronaldo would be on the ****ing wing. As for Messi, why the **** do you think Barca over the last few years have sold top strikers in Ibrahimovic and Villa? To make way for Alexis Sanchez????? It's because Messi is used in the striker role so they didn't need those strikers, and when Messi plays as striker, Sanchez is deployed on the wing, or vice versa with Messi on the wing and they exchange. Messi and Ronaldo are not used as attacking midfielders, don't know what the **** you on about.
Messi can play as an Attacking midfielder but has'nt for a good 3-4 years. These days he is a Forward. Ronaldo is a Wing-Forward.
Make a bid for Suarez this Jan. Giroud is a good player but we need better to challenge and Suarez would give us that.
They play a front THREE - That means three 'forwards'. This is'nt the 1990's and these teams dont play a flat 442.
Absolutely, I was merely pointing out Rooney's positional flexibility in the case of injuries or for rotation / changing things up mid-game.
I was pleased to hear Giroud talking like this: "I must have a chance (of winning the Golden Boot)," he said. "I feel good and, with these players giving me chances, it has to be a possibility. "That is something I aimed to achieve when I joined Arsenal. Now that we have Mesut Ozil, it can get even better." When he first came he seemed somewhat short of confidence. That's all changed now which can only be a good thing.
I'm worried he's going too far the other way. Getting a bit big for his boots, especially considering he's still a pretty average player. I honestly think Bendtner (when fully focused) could get close to Giroud's numbers.
