If we are talking about roman numerals, 3mm doesn't make any sense at all as you have used both Arabic numerals (3) and the roman numerals representing 2,000 (MM). One million in roman numerals is represented by M with a horizontal bar above it; the horizontal bar multiples the number below by 1,000. Therefore 3 million would be MMM all of which have horizontal bars above them (like little hats for the Ms!) An example might be like this: _ M (I have no idea if that has come out right, but it looks good to me on my screen!)
Yes, I'm aware of that. I just couldn't be bothered to put the bars over the top, as I thought people would question that, also!¬
Not QUITE that old. It's the way that figure would be written anywhere in the finance, or banking industry. £3m would be taken to mean £3,000
We've been hearing about the value of bids since June, thats all he revealed wasn't it? and its not a live deal deal, its dead.
Levy states Modric isn't for sale. Redknapp blabs on about how sorry he feels for Modric. Unnecessary
Sorry to disagree. I worked as a trader in the City for more than 25 years. In those days we still had to hand write the trade tickets to be processed by the back office. I must have written literally, tens of thousands of tickets, that way - not one was ever queried. It was common practice to write anything expressing millions in that format.
