Sorry I wasn't more specific...it is one of the more desirable areas of Orpington, along with Derrick Wood and Locksbottom.... (just down the road a couple of miles towards Sevenoaks is the famous Pratts Bottom, butt of many a joke).

    PS.....see what I did there......

Actually I had fish and chips AND 2 pickled onions last night following Parents' Evening at my daughter's sixth form, so there! Fish & chips bought in Crownhill, not recommended.

And normally I make pickled onions at this time of year, as it was a Christmas tradition for my maternal grandfather, a great gardener (as well as an ex electrical engineer in the RN and subsequently the Dockyard), to deliver at least one sweet jar full of his home grown shallots for the festivities. And when I say sweet jar, I mean the 18 inch high things that used to stand on shelves in the sweet shops.

This year, there seems to be a world shortage of pickling spice. I'm probably the only person left alive that uses it.......

I do like sea bass but I prefer red snapper. The trip to the Gulf of Mexico to get it fresh is the problem.....

Can't get a visa I'm afraid. Wrong colour for a fish.
