I'm sure it's all supposed to be a bit of banter and meant to wind people up, but I hope the comments about winning this tie without much fuss don't come back to haunt those that have posted them. Stoke fans don't have to cast their minds too far back to remember we have been beaten by so called lesser teams in the past.
This is just the sort of tie that we should be wary of. Yes, we will be the favourites, and rightly so given our respective league positions, but we must not underestimate the 'underdog' who have nothing to lose and everything to gain. I'm more worried about this tie than any of the early European games. Gillingham will have had far more experience of playing against our style of football than the likes of FC Thun.
Lets hope for an entertaining game, played in good spirit, with plenty of friendly banter between the fans and where the best team on the day wins. Obviously I'm hoping that will be Stoke, but I'm certainly not taking it for granted.
