Yes, i did celebrate both goals.

Tonight for once Peter Taylor got it bang on the nail. I said in the OP, if PT plays his normal tactics we would take a battering, he did not, hence we did not.

Instead tonight we saw a fantastic game of football from BOTH sides, I think 1-1 was a fair result up until the injury of Poshies number 7 Taylor, who for me was the man of the entire match. I turned to my lad when he went off injured and said this will now change the game in our favour and it did... 2-1 and three decent points.

The Posh will not be happy, when in fact they played some decent football and contributed towards the best game i have seen this season. The second half we started a bit on the back foot and i thought surely Taylor has not reverted back to his old style, after all the efforts of the first half, but we soon came back out the starting blocks again.

In a way i was glad Peterborough scored before half-time, so that it influenced PT's second half tactics, otherwise he would have just sat back at 1-0 up.

Several good saves from the Posh keeper, kept them from going further behind and the second for us was a clear cut penalty. Tonight i actually felt i had just watched two potential play-off sides.

Maybe at last PT is turning that corner...

    Glad you enjoyed the game.

Did you turn to your son before kick off and say "oh god I wish PT wasn't starting Cody........" Or something along those lines?

Never said that at all, or anything along those lines, i never made any comment on any of the starting players. My only fear was if PT had sat back and i've already covered that point. I say what i see on the night. If people don't like that it's not my problem. I pay to go watch a game, i express an opinion on it, and you can be damn as sure it won't be a uniformed opinion.

    Excellent 3 points.

Glad that PT did start with both Cody & Luke Norris. Now that Keds is out for an extended period, hopefully Luke will get a decent run and grow into a partnership with Cody. It does sound like Cody needs a partner up top, and either way we will find out if Luke Norris is the right partner or not. I think Cody is a confidence player, and hopefully bagging a couple tonight will spur him into a run of form like we all know he's capable of.

I'm hearing young Egan was probably our MOTM tonight. I reckon have a diamond on our hands there. And Hause had another good game apparently. He was written off after one game by some. I'm glad PT didn't do likewise. This young team looks like it just might be starting to gel a little. Early days but 10th is great.

Very good result. As has been said here, Cody is a confidence player, so to the Cody knockers....please get off his back and encourage the guy.

One substitution that did surprise me last night was Posh taking off their number 15 at half-time...who i now know was Anderson. I thought he outpaced McGlashan comfortably and was a constant threat mixing it up in our box. Anyone know why he was taken off?

Last night showed why I find Taylor so frustrating at times, since the Coventry game I have been banging on about who ineffectual Cody is up top on his own and over the last few days, like many others, how we should be more adventurious going forward. So after twoo poor performance, bang, we get a great win doing exactly what I said we should be doing more of. Now I am not saying I am better than Taylor be any stretch of the imagination but why does he insist on playing a system away from home that simply doesn't bring the best out in our players, when we have shown that we can clearly mix it up with the stronger teams in the division??

That said he did get it right last night so hats off to PT

A good performance from all the lads, this time last season we were in 24th place on 3 points, this season 10th place on 11 points.

    "Progress"

incidentally this time last season 10th place was held by Brentford, whatever happened to them.

Sorry to come back to this but I have two points; firstly has anybody really been "knocking" Cody? I mean the games I have been to I have heard no booing of the lad, maybe the odd groan when he misses the chances, but I can't see how the fans reactions have any impact on his confidence; surely it is up to the players to provide him with the chances to score which give him confidence. Even on here he hasn't been criticised as such but mentioned in debates such as 'why doesn't German get a start' and 'I think we need to play two up front to get the best out of Cody' so no real knocking there just opinion.

Secondly why should Cody been exempt from criticism anyway, last season when a few players were not playing to their best e.g. Barrett, Weston and to a lesser exent Keds, thee were people lining up to put the boot to them, so why is Cody a special case... because he is a confidence player? That is total tosh!!

That part was very tongue in cheek as I'm still looking at a mid-table finish, however, the progress bit I stand by as we look a lot better this season.

I should add that what has pleased me over the last 5 games (includes Stevenage in the cup) is that we have looked stronger in defence, only 2 goals conceded.

Here, here Grumpy. No need to splash out on a defence coach after all.

Very good win yesterday for you.
From what I remember, quite a few of you thought that Posh might have been too strong for you.
Looking forward to seeing you finish comfortably mid table at least this season. <cheers>

As you say BRB, best game of the season so far and so glad we got the 3 points, i was thinking that if we get 4 points from these 2 home games it would be great, if we can now go on and get another win against a downheartened Walsall side at the weekend then that would be a great return so far.

What i most enjoyed was how we kept pushing at 1-1, Bywater running into the stands to get the ball was a prime example, the confidence at home is great, the players belive they can beat anyone at Priestfield. Also the passion and joy at the end by our young lads in particular, great to see.

Finally, 'he scores goals galore, he scores goals, oh Cody he scores goals' - best put him on the bench for German then hey BRB <doh>

BSG it's a bit like the independence vote....vote yes and conform to the more vocal voice and your fine....express an alternative non uniformal view and your upset opinion. I stick by my views about Cody, regardless of last night. I guess if Keds had taken that penalty, the usual knockers would have said he's not a natural goal scorer but because Cody rocks the net with it, then its special.

Very good result with unfortunately now with a very dark shadow over the game due to one man's idiocy. Why won't the bad publicity just go away? <wah>

    What bad publicity?

One individual is alleged to have made a racist remark (racism exist in all walks of life) Gillingham football stewards were made aware of the situation and took the appropriate action to apprehend the culprit, as a club we have said anyone found guilty of racism will receive a life ban, as far as I can see, we as a club have acted in a responsible way to show racism is unacceptable at Priestfield.
