Even though I am cold and hungry, only just got in from the game, I won't moan about that load of dross. I will just say our players were second to every ball, their fitness/stamina looked second best, our effort looked second best, our desire looked second best, our performance was second best.

Apart from that we did ok " what a waste of time and money"

I don't know what to say about that, we were not at the races tonight, we did not look much of a threat and did not really have any chances other than Dack, he played well and other than him the only other one who I believe done well was Gregory who had a better game but not much else to say, we are still top but only because Port Vale lost. I will write more tomorrow.

yes we have been lucky result wise but Burton 6 points behind in third and Northamton 7 Rotherham have game in hand. I still cannot expect Gills to keep winning away, yes they have set a record but can they keep it up? We do not look like scoring, without Weston we have no one with pace or flair and with Cody gone no one to score. All the players are slow and predictable. I know we are top so we must be doing something right.

Now I know it's one defeat and If we had lost on Saturday then won today it would not seem so bad but I feel teams are closing in on us and all of a sudden there is big pressure on us to perform . Birchall yet again did not perform and the new guy did not look great . We must still believe we will be okay as it has got us to where we are but now we must move on and try and get a positive result at aldershot .UTG

Turns out quite a good night for me in the end then, more money in my bank balance and missed out on getting cold, hungry and wet watching a load of dross. Didn't realise my lads couldn't make the game either, someone could have had free tickets for it <whistle>

    btw anyone seen Lenny? <laugh>

Pants....not good enough. Maybe there's too much of the 'oh well.....we can win away again'. That's not being straight with the home fans. Not delivering value for money for the paying customer. Too many basic faults.....
We knew about Cureton V Exeter.....We knew about Pope V Vale....and we knew about Potter's pace and skill before last night.
Our home record is now P*** poor. I feel sorry for our fans who are buoyed by the away results but for whatever reasons cannot go to the away games to be fed a continual diet of dross. Back to the beginning of November for a decent home result.

I hope that MA is ripping a few new ****holes into some of the players......and maybe someone ought to rip one into him as he is not the messiah. Away we seem to play well and have the ability to smash and grab results. Grab (Cody has gone) smash obviously didn't turn up last night.

On this form, Burton to go up as Champs and us / Vale fighting it out for third place. One of the chasing pack WILL go on a Crewe type run of last season and be the deserving form side.If we had any type of home form we'd be another 6 points at least ahead.

Rant over as I can't get to any of the games at present. As a fan though, I have a point of view...WTF is going on???

I think a slight concern for me reading through the reports for last night was not so much the performance on the pitch but the one off it. The attendance was below 5,000, obviously I had my own personal reasons for not attending last night but I just feel that when we talk of new 18,000 seater stadiums then it just makes me laugh. We are top of the league and confidence was high on the back of an away win and a previous home win against Northampton, so no reason to have expected defeat. So why was the attendance so low. Yes, you can point to people like me but if so then we need to give some serious consideration to how we market midweek games. Although not relevant in this case but I would pay particular attention to postponed Saturday fixtures that are rearranged for midweek. I also heard there was more booing, you paid your money, you therefore are entitled to make your choice. However, I prefer to be a constructive critic when the need arises not a boo boy. Going back to the new stadium though, forget it I really do not want to be sitting in some 3/4 empty shell on miserable night in November.

brb We'll discuss me becoming your nemesis on Saturday !
The previous home win was against Dagenham & Redbridge ( 2-1 )
I may not be I T skilled - but at least I am alwaysright

ps before the game started, I was disappointed with the size of the crowd. There was substantial TV competition - the FA Cup replay Oldham v Everton and the Classico - Barcelona v R.Madrid.
I said in a thread earlier in the season that I thought it was madness to have L1 & L2 games on in midweek when other major competitions take place - such as the Champions League. And lets not forget the forthcoming journies to Exeter & Rochdale following on from last midweek's game at York. These dates were avoidable -by making the closer based teams play in midweek - rather than expect fans to take two days off work to travel half the length of the British Isles on a Tuesday.

Northampton <doh> Jeez, I have had a busy week, even that or the old memory bank is worst than first expected! As you know, when we get OLD everything merges into a blur <laugh>

But the home wins are spaced soooo far apart that they, at least, cannot merge into a blur. Still hacked off..........
