He isn't being misled; we had 14 attempts at goal...they just weren't very good attempts. The concerning stat is the percentage of those which were on target; less than half.

Our issues seem to lie much with what they were last season...some flashes of nice passing and movement broken up by the fact we just don't seem to have presence in the midfield we need...someone you can give the ball to who can then make those quick, decisive passes. Linganzi wasn't playing, why is unbeknown, who I think when he settles could well be a very good holding presence.

There were times last night we really looked like we could score...then we fluffed a shot, a cross or put a simple header over the bar.

Bayo should have scored twice in the first half with straight forward headers. I felt for him a bit in that game but the amount of fouls people drew off of him disturbed me. Few of them were actually fouls and he didn't deserve to be booked. He out muscled every one of their players and every time they hit the dirt...the lino flagged him after he successfully turned their player who just flopped in hop of a free kick! However, if a ref picks on him like that, he's going to have little to no success in doing anything for us. Typically, when they held him down, we got nothing. That's how it seems to go in these lower leagues though.

Their keeper, when tested with three or four good balls, looked really shaky. Needed to test him much more. He didn't look like much.

Harriman, as already stated before, was at fault for the opener but other than that looked very, very good. Could prove to be an asset.

What we need is longer and more sustained periods of the flashes we saw.

We looked poor and totally lacking much in the way of football ability, I only realised how poor when I got home and looked at the first half stats.

    Possession 38%.
    Shots 9.
    On target 1.

    Compare that to City.
    Possession 62%
    Shots 5.
    On target 4.

Is it any wonder we lost, huff, puff, and a good TV manner aren't going to help our lack of quality.

You are right of course thats what comes of trying to do two things at the same time replying to a thread about Alberts transfer to Boro and talking about Wolves.

That was clever to have one shot on target, especially as THREE were cleared off the line!

Take the first 45 mins or the full 90, the balance of play was overwhelmingly in favour of Bristol. The slightly better statistical showing in the second half was due to the visitors sitting back and defending a lead.

Not sure where you are getting 3 shots were cleared off the line? Your shots were blocked in our box, Not once did our players clear a shot off the line last night. You should have scored a few but Akinfenwa's headers were shocking. It seemed last night we would have possession for 5-10 minutes have a few good attacks then you would counter and catch us out. Something we need to work on.

There was one...maybe even two...at the very end. Two if you count when Kedwell beat you over the top from a Nelson boot out and headed it over your goalie...someone was right behind him to clear the danger. That was only really a half chance though.
