Not for me, our selction of a front three over the last two years, has been dreadful there is no workable combinations to be found in McGeady, Grigg Maguire Gooch Wyke et al they have all been tried and failed dismally time and again including AOB Scowen Diamond or Niel in that system will not help, and possibly ruin any potential they might have. Its time to try something different imo, we are better to go 3/5/2 with Hume, O/9, Diamond or even Gooch in the wing back roles leaving room for a 3 man midfield with Leadbitter in the centre of two players with good movement Neil, Embleton O/9 and Dobson spring to mind to play around him we have plenty of options all over the pitch with this system and we finally solve the unsolvable problem of who is the best between Grigg Graham and Wyke, and also say goodbye to Captain Power..

Irrespective of where we are in the league will probably have no relevance to the new owners position on who the manager is going to be , I would expect that they will have someone in mind if they are as professional as Rodwell indicated . The main thing is for the team to still continue putting points on the board so if we have a new manager appointed we are still well placed to maintain a push for promotion .

Just asking, but why is everyone desperate to see Diamond played as a forward? Every time I’ve seen him in the u23s he’s been a wing back/winger. Yet everyone wants him playing up top??

I can begrudgingly accept Charlton. Not Pompey though. The lesser of 2 evils.

I know but Dan Neil is quick too and he is a forward. As is Benji!
I agree we need pace up there. Denver is pretty quick so it’s not much different to asking to play him there!

I recon the table is going to change quite a bit over the next few months, and the more clubs the better in the mix at the top, as this should give the bigger squads some advantage, and ours if used properly is bigger than most.

And if being the pertinent word. Doubt it'll get used properly under Parkinson's leadership. There always seems to be a missing link with the teams he's put out

Wonder what everyone would say if he put Hume up front? He’d be vilified! That’s effectively little different to what people are asking for!

I like what I’ve seen of diamond. But there’s no way I’d ask fir him up front

Harrogate Town boss Simon Weaver is thankful to Sunderland after loanee Jack Diamond helped make history to seal promotion for the Yorkshire club.

Town reached the Football League for the first time in their history after beating Notts County 3-1 in the National League play-off final on Sunday, with Black Cats prospect Diamond netting an all-important third goal.

Diamond was awarded BT Sports' man of the match after his Wembley heroics, and Weaver as expressed his gratitude to Sunderland for their co-operation in allowing the 20-year-old winger to return to complete the play-offs.

If that's the case, let's either leave him in the stands or on the bench. Oh hang on.........

Winger. Not centre forward. He’s not a cf. and he’s played as a wing back for the 23s every game I’ve seen. He played as a winger fir Harrogate but we don’t play with wingers. Stick him in the hole with a bit of freedom but not up top
