My mate cut Wearnes hair just after he signed, he wanted it doing for the photos. He told my mate he signed for us because weve promised him first team football within a few years. He was released from Boro surprisingly
Versatility is the key in the short term but our injury list seems to go from bad to worse , I don’t think it will be training related as with our fixture commitment I don’t think the players will be training that much . Possible that we are not pushing them out on to the pitch patched up as we have in the past preferring to rest the injury to prevent reoccurring injuries . Thankfully we have a fair number of players who can play in a few positions this should stand us in good stead .
I still think an option could be, if and when we are short of full backs, to tweak the system to 3 at the back and play wing backs who can stop crosses.
It's a difficult situation isn't it .... ... most of the Gillingham crosses came from around their half way line. They also had two long throw in merchants and deliberately ran the ball down the line hoping we'd knock it out, which we often did. I thought we defended well though, it was a tough game.
I've noticed that most of the media, and TV pundits, are saying exactly the same thing regarding the Saudis. Shearer was typical and wearing the same concerned face they all use, 'Of course there are serious issues, regarding human rights, that need to be discussed ...' What they fail to add, but obviously mean, is ' .... but not here, not now, not by me.'
Vile and unpleasant creature who is actually a decent,(albeit low level) football manager. Better suited to Conference/League 2
You are quite right the size of him he couldn’t do either and that’s coming from BIG MACKEM so I should know , again good riddance to bad rubbish.
