No not Ryan......concerts, shows........gigs.

Anyone going to any in the coming weeks....anyone been to any in the past few weeks?

I'm off to watch a group called Vant at the Cluny in Newcastle on Thursday. The guitarist and singer is a guy called Mattie Vant who hails from Seaham. I'm really looking forward to this one.

I've already watched so far this year....the Stranglers, the Alarm, the Vamps (lol) and 5 Seconds of Summer (lol), the last two with the daughter.

Got tickets to watch the Damned in November...class.

The Alarm. Christ are they still going.

Dont quite understand your last part. You seen the Damned in Nov or you are going to see them in Nov?

Who are the Vamps?

You should try and go and see our own Rock n Roll diva, Marcus. Heard his gigs are good.

If not you can hoy soggy tomatoes at him.

Sorry, mate, typo there I've got tickets to watch them in November.

The Vamps are a boy/pop band, I took the daughter to watch them. I gave them 5/10.

Re Marcus, I'd love to watch him some time. I'm sure I won't need any tomatoes

I first saw the Alarm in 1983 when they supported U2 at the City Hall. They are ok, the front man, Mike Peters, has had leukemia for the past decade or so, still looks good though and sounds ok.

Mr Raw is our gig hound. He goes to see loads of local bands. And sometimes gets in trouble for being a dirty stop out.

Its a risky one going to see old bands.

Madness. One of my all time favourited. Last time i saw them left disapointed. But on the flip side Bad Manners were ****ing fantastic.

Aye, I try to mix it up, I like to see a few current bands as well as the old groups. Bad Manners were on at the Carling Academy recently, I didn't have enough brownie points to see them as I had another three gigs lined up....and the missus would have whinged :steam:

What was the crack with Madness?

Just getting stale now. Unless they play their original hits. Still wouldnt turn them down to watch them like.

In my day when I followed bands in the 60s/70s
There were local bands
Brass ally
Lucus tyson
Becket
Circus
Greenie
And one or two others
We travelled around the north east to many venues including Cubs pubs and night clubs great times

Well Vinny i can honestly say ive never heard of any of them. What happened to them all.

Anyone got a favourite venue? Or a favourite type of venue?

I do not like the Metro Arena, you can end up 100 yards from the stage, ffs.

The Carling Academy in Newcastle is a cracking venue, close to the stage with a good vocal audience.
I saw the Damned at Sunderland Uni last year, belter.

I expect about 300 at the Cluny tomorrow night, should be a cracker.

I used to love the Mayfair in the heart of magland.

Also the uni gigs are brilliant.

Macc Lads in Newcastle Mayfair. One of the most mental things ive ever seen.
