Just seen a cracking showcase gig for Michael Kiwanuka's new album Small Changes, at The Level in Nottingham. Nice little uni venue. Stripped back sound and only an hour but really well rehearsed laid back sound.
Got tickets for human league at Scarborough in June Thompson twins and blancmange as support Looking forward to it
Not much of a Rolling Stones fan apart from the odd song but this is a cracking watch on youtube. Anita Pallenberg was a hag though, don't see what the attraction was ? Edit, bollocks you'll have to click the link to watch. https://www.youtube.com/@YesterdaysPapers
Anyone on here go/going for Sabbath/Ozzy tickets? Prices absolutely ludicrous. I managed to get some decent seats into my basket in the artist presale this morning but, at £430 a pop, perhaps for the first time ever, common sense prevailed. I’m glad GA standing was all gone by the time I got through the queue because I think I would have panic bought them, but on reflection I don’t wanna pay £275 for that either. It’s full week at a major festival money. As memorable an occasion as it will be, just too much. It’s not an event for poor people unfortunately.
I saw the supposed "final" Sabbath concert in Birmingham a few years ago so will definitely not be going to this one.
Think it's an all day thing and there are other big name bands, but that is a lot of money. Oh and as far as ozzy goes I don't think you will see much of him, I heard he's getting seriously bad with parkinsons and has difficulty just standing. Saw Sabbath in their peak 1978 and that memory is the one I will keep.
It is all day, Metallica, Pantera, Alice in Chains all on the bill as well as loads of big name guests that will apparently be performing like Slash, Fred Durst, Jon Davis. Will be a lot of short sets and more of a party/celebration than a gig though I reckon. Ozzy is totally ****ed and can’t walk anymore but will apparently actually be performing a short solo set followed by a short set with Sabbath. My dad would have gone at all costs but I just can’t justify those prices, not with all the shows and festivals I’ve already committed to for this year. 2025 is absolutely insane the big shows just keep coming and coming, it’s like everyone is playing the UK this year
Ozzy had on stage a 2 liter bulmers cider bottle which he was drinking from during the concert, I managed to get a drink from that very bottle at the end of the gig, turned out to be water not cider.
I did MTV unplugged with a-ha in 2016, it was a small studio on a fjord, only 220 people. They charged I think it was £135, and that included buses to the concert from the town and a bbq when you were there and was the most incredible event.
Hear tell that Ozzy is including a freak show exhibit in his set, his wife. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
when i was driving back to Hull at around 11pm, I saw two girls hitch hiking on edge of Brid - I thought how stupid are you two - I stopped and asked where they were going - they said Hornsea - even though it was out my way I took them home so at least they would be safe - how times have changed - who in their right mind would do that now
