Metallica at Twickers in a couple of weeks. Their last London gig at the O2 was jaw-dropping, looking forward to seeing it bigger and louder this time.

They showed the Freddie Mercury tribute concert for AIDS awareness from 1992 at the weekend on the telly. I watched that, first time I'd seen any of it since it was done.

Thankfully they edited out one of the most embarrassing and cringeworthy moments in pop when The Slim Pale Prince sank to his wooden knee and recited The Lord's Prayer during "Heroes". Either that or it was on when I had to go and see an old fiend off to sea. Lot of vegetables consumed that day.

Yep, Metal Licker at the O2 was a superb show.

I may go to the Twickenham gig. It's a decent venue for rock music.

Mostly sold out now but you might be able to get one of those special package deals where you get to meet the band, get signed stuff and have a half decent seat. Be prepared to sell a kidney though, they don't come cheap.

Never been to Twickers before, I suspect there is a strict curfew for gigs. I just hope they are allowed to perform at a decent volume before the cut-off.

There are still tickets going in the second tier for about £85, and a few general admission for £74. I'll have a think about it.

I saw the Stones at Twickenham many moons ago. I can't remember the exact curfew time but getting home on public transport wasn't a problem, so it couldn't have been too late. Sound and atmosphere were first class.

Metallica are the group with no sense of humour nor self deprecation. They could not understand the Spinal Tap rockumentary, took offence to it, and shat on the roof of a theatre that was showing it in Australia. Bunch of self important fannies with utter **** music to boot.

Metallica plough their own furrows. Everyone thought they were dinosaurs and greedy bastards for not wanting Napster to steal their songs and stream them for nothing. What they predicted has come true, the music business model as was is totally defunct now. You don't make much from selling stuff compared to the good old days and so have to relentlessly tour to earn a crust. That is why they are on a two year stadium tour and get away with charging £100 a pop. They even gave away their last album if you bought a ticket.

Some may say they are up their own a-holes and a humourless bunch but as a follower of theirs on Instagram I've seen all the work they do to raise funds for their charities and they've even helped out at farms and food kitchens. Could all be fake news but I doubt it.

I can't tell you that their music is good or bad, it's purely subjective and they can't be everyone's cup of tea. Some people prefer Coldplay.

Yup, they were certainly proved right with regard to music being streamed for nothing, so I salute them for that certainly.

Fair enough, that's the type of music guys live with their mums and go out and shoot up schools but have to admit did see Lynyrd Skynyrd about 6 years ago, not my scene but good night all the same and I'm right in saying only 1 original member remaining?

Morrissey's records taken off the shelves in Cardiff and only saw him last year but not that miserable now for anyone with right wing views, avoid 10 ton trucks.
