It's the going rate, I'd say. I've paid a hell of a lot more for tickets. Meeting Fleetwood Mac set me back £600.
Guns n Roses aren't worth a w.ank. Seen them twice and they were feckin awful. Twatxl Rose just needs shooting. If you got their drummer, bass player and lead guitarist then put them with a decent singer you might have a decent band. Wait, what?
I can't see much happening on this thread for a while. Ticketmaster will be refunding me a fair old whack over the coming weeks, which saddens me greatly. I was really looking forward to Taylor Swift at Hyde Park .
I was thinking of going to see George Thorogood and the Destroyers but tickets were over £50 before fees, likewise I looked at the Black Crowes but they wanted over a ton a ticket. I love a gig but that is ridiculous. Having said that I coughed up £75 for Bauhaus at Ally Pally, been re-scheduled to August. Not many bands I'd give up that kind of folding for.
That's expensive, Fields of the Nephilim was about £30. Was thinking about going to Rebellion Festival in August but will see nearer the time.
The Hyde Park gigs have been cancelled. No Pearl Jam. No Taylor (my youngest is gutted - and so am I).
I seen Der Crowes when they were playing small uni gigs etc then when they were playing mega support gigs to the likes of Page & Plant. The small gigs were amazing, the big ones pretty meh.. They couldn't pay me to go and see them now.
I wasn't really into that whole scruffy bandannas and frilly scarves rock and roll scene back in the day. Before Grunge totally kicked the sh.it out of big hair metal there were loads of bands like the Black Crowes, Wildhearts, Quire Boys, etc that I didn't pay much attention at the time but since I've been learning to play the guitar I've got a broader appreciation of that 90's blues/rock influenced stuff. This is on the radar if I can get enough moolah together please log in to view this image
It's not generally the kind of thing I tend to like but the black crowes were in a class of their own imho. Southern harmony and musical companion is a solid classic album. And great to play along to as it's practically live in the studio.
