Honestly absolute nonsense, what kind of fukin pressure is a price tag like that on a young lads head. Hes got Fuk all first team experience, disgusting how it will probably destroy him.
Apparently Spurs and Southampton in for him n all.

Who says transfer fees are OTT.

Everton paying £6M supposedly for a 16 yo full back who has never played in the PL.

Thank goodness sanity has returned!!!!!! Are Everton that brassed off that we didn't rip them off last year with Sissoko that they are determined to make it up for it this transfer window?

Tin pot web site essentially re-tweets Lee Ryder's tweet about a 'sale' being 'likely'.

How are they going to sell him? They can't as he isn't under contract to NUFC? Compensation is the only way we can get money and I assume that is from a tribunal. We'll see who he signs for in due course and I still wouldn't rule NUFC out.

Not saying it's gospel as yet another web site looking for clicks but the sad thing is that in the current transfer market it falls within the bounds of possibility albeit at the extreme end.

Bri will be on in an a minute to tell us we cpuld get 24 Aiden McGeady's for that.

I am sorry but how **** are we - if we do have one of the brightest prospects then secure him not let him leave.

Disappointed.

To the Manchesters, or Chelski/Arsenal I understand. Maybe Spurs. But Everton? Makes me feel pretty goddam angry, to be honest. And he's from Stanley.

I'm really not understanding this at all. If Everton are blowing us away with facilities, then Charnley/Ashley need to pull their chubby fingers out of their a-holes and fix it. No wonder we end up playing the likes of Sammy Ameobi.

He didn't want to sign a pro contract with us. Everton are well-funded and building for the future, and we're about 50 steps behind them on that journey. Not much we could do. Everton may see this as recompense for us jumping in and nicking Dan Gosling out from under their noses. Fat lot of good that did us.

There's an awful lot we can do (though not with regards Gibson, I admit). With the amount of cash generated and the sheer lack of first team investment, the very least this club should be doing is reaching youth development levels on a par with Southampton and Everton.

What we could also do is give him a decent contract, promise him cup games and shift him up to the first team squad.

We have no idea what has been offered to him by the club. I hope it hasn't been a case of us dragging our heels to offer a contract or trying to lowball him with 3k a week or somesuch, but there's no proof of that. He may have just wanted a move. As they've mentioned on nufc.com, it's possible that the clubs he's likely to be loaned out to by Everton will be more competitive and progress his career more quickly.

I'd imagine you can agree a fee by simply accepting a payment for a legally binding agreement that you will not take them to tribunal. The payment would then not be for the player per se but for waiving the right to legal recourse from him leaving.

That said at least we're not losing him for a nominal fee, people are still reeling from Everton paying £17m for an English defender who just proved himself in a poor team. We're getting over a third of that straight off and rumours suggest it would end up more.

Not happy with this but it's maybe not a disaster. Exactly the opposite to what we should be doing but there you go.

Apparently he has decided to leave especially after buying Manquillo. He has become disillusioned that we have bought a player that couldn't get in ahead of Billy Jones and we have a young Right back Jamie Sterry that won't be given a chance due to this. He doesnt feel he will get the chance in the first team and he isn't the only one in the academy with that feeling.

They also have an excellent youth scheme and a manager who is not afraid to give young players a chance. We tend to send them out on loan never to return. Think if it was my kid I would tell him Everton will be much better for his career development unfortunately and then ask whether he can pay off the mortgage on the house before he goes.
