Wow. I remember watching him play for Sampdoria when Serie A was first on Channel 4. Loved him as a player and always thought he came across as a really spot on guy.

Echo everything that's already been said. Top player, one of the ones to watch out for on Football Italia back in the day and always seemed to be a really decent, down to earth bloke. RIP fella.

Top player...but more importantly he came across as a genuine, really nice bloke and someone who was vastly loved and admired.
That 96-99 era Chelsea used to be on terrestrial TV quite a lot in the UEFA Cup or the cup winners cup, I used to enjoy watching them as they played good football. Vialli a big part of that too. Incredibly sad, cancer is a bastard.
