Wrong. The Portsmouth scenario itself need not be a disaster. The problem there was one of execution (to put it politely) rather than a flawed concept. VC's do this all the time, one of the key things a VC does before investing is tbhey identify their exit strategy.

When I talk about "a Portsmouth" I don't mean a VC trying to make a killing, I mean one who can't execute his plans and sends the thing spiralling downwards. A VC trying to make a killing still needs to do a lot of the things we want done. No doubt there will come a point where we will be hoping they sell to someone with different objectives but that would probably mean we were top half Premiership and not investing quite enough to become a serious top 6/top 4 club - at the moment, I would take that as a problem to have. IF a VC gets us there, they will be keen to sell and take their profits.
