I was at the match with a neutral and he thought it wasn't a penalty. It certainly looked very harsh. I thought the challenge on McShane was a penalty. I'm looking forward to MOTD2 tonight. Given the number of players who were missing I think we played very well. It's nice to have two good goalkeepers. I'm sure that even if we lose a few games on the trot Bruce won't panic like Phil Brown did.
Good point. I think this is an important factor that very few people seem to acknowledge with these decisions. A speculative cross becomes an almost certain goal for no good reason. Some people are too City-biased, but I think you go so far out of your way to avoid bias that you sometimes appear to be almost biased against City.
I suppose it's vernacular. Then again, I wasn't pulling people up over their literacy. I was just telling you not to, seeing as yours is average, at best
Hardly vernacular, the ordinary person wouldn't say "righto" A **** would though. I'm happy with average, I've got a CSE grade 4 (1983) which is well below average. I'm performing above my ability. "A" Level **** is way beyond me, yet the primary school like errors are terribly embarrassing.
You obviously don't realise how **** the media in this country is then, they'll spend more time banging on about Andros Townsend falling over the advertising hoardings than they will on the McShane penalty incident. Which I thought was a penalty too. Also looked like a trip on Boyd when he went through on goal just before half-time?
According to this month's FourFourTwo magazine, there are something like 60 'words' in the OED which have the magazine listed as a citation for how they came into popular use. Anyway my point is that apparently 'want-away striker' is in there and so is 'free transfer' and approx 60 other football phrases.
It's a proper 9"er. I do shave for the little bit extra. The doctor suggested losing a couple of stone but I'm quite attached to my foreskin.
As I said, "Righto" is in the OED, which really should end the matter. Feel free to argue pointlessly on if you want, of course.
That's good and proper; the English language is a living, evolving entity. Not sure the same can be said about Benny boy
I trim mine too. It's really a no brainer and I really don't want to look like the dude from the joy of sex.
I thought so at the time. That and the McShane one were far more worthy of penalties than the "hand ball". My first reaction seeing it live was that it was a hand ball. Now I have seen it in slow motion I've changed my opinion.
