This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Absolutely awful decision. If it is not deliberate it is not handball. Home team / away team / top four side / any other side is irrelevant. It was not handball.
I miss patty and chips ( with scraps ). Priory Road was my local. Someone told me it had burnt down. Must have been an insurance job.
Bastard, in mitigation I was munching my roast chicken, but **** it, no excuse. I'll not make the same mistake during my apple pie & cuzzie
look on the bright side. We had a depleted squad, and if it wasn't for a poor refereeing decision, we wouldn't have lost that game. I know it's a tough pill to swallow but maybe we're getting our just deserts for Brady's antics in Wet Spams penalty box. Over a season, these things tend to even themselves out anyhow.
Holy ****, a sensible post. The biggest plus for us today is that our "second string" players performed admirably against Spurs' starters.
I used to believe that, but it really doesn't. Look at Palace last season, they had far more penalties than anyone and where very lucky. This year we have had two fortunate penalties, but they where still pushes and therefore fouls, however soft. Today we where robbed, last week we were robbed and Nolan was a sending off against us to. Big clubs get decisions, i never used to believe it.
Both of them were fouls that the defenders stupidly chose to commit. Elmo had absolutely no way he could do anything about today's penalty. It just hit him after coming off his thigh. Agreed. Also Meyler got booked for throwing the ball away, Townsend fires it into the stand in frustration but that's fine; Rosenior booked for dissent but when Soldado scream "**** off!" In the ref's face that's fine. If the ball is in the air and the West Ham defender decides to bump into Brady when neither of them are going to be able to reach it, he deserves to concede a pen. The fact it was such a stupid thing to do and so unnecessary doesn't mean it shouldn't have been a penalty. He still did it. Elmo today conceded a penalty for nothing other than being there. He hasn't played the ball, he hasn't moved any part of his arm towards the ball, it's just a deflected ball that hits his arm. Tottenham didn't get behind us once today. If they'd scored a great long shot or something that was out of our control it'd be hard to take but to lose to a goal completely out of either side's control and with them having done nothing to earn it is just painful. They didn't create a chance of note all game and just got 'awarded' a goal. That's bullshit though. The only time refs ever get demoted or anything is when a high-profile decision goes wrong and is seen by everyone and heavily criticised. It's practically down to the media to demote them.
Did you really pass your GCSE (language) and then go on take an A level in lit? If so standards are really falling! Or was it merely your phone that auto corrected?
Dubious penalty, but we've had them ourselves this season. And hopefully, that's it evened out. Thought we played well considering it was a patched up side, and 0-0 would've been fair. I dislike what i heard on the radio after the match. The phone in is full of meffs who talk absolute ****e. Ffs take the decision on the chin and move on. Don't embarrass yourselves by saying/ texting such bollocks on the airwaves.
Don't be daft. Brady threw himself to the ground. Minimal contact and Brady took the opportunity. Never a penalty and West Ham didn't deserve to concede a pen.
I was watching online and at speed I initially thought it was handball. When I watched again I realised it hit the other hand and not the one I originally thought. Must be hard being a ref at this level.
No, by his logic it was definitely a penalty if it was handball, which it wasn't. He was pushed. Big Sam's accusation of diving was bullshit but people have latched onto it. It was exactly the same as the Norwich one: they couldn't cope with an Elmo cross so just lost it and started pushing someone who was never going to win it anyway. It is but someone needs to make their jobs easier. Isn't there a referee's association? What do they even do? Tottenham had an extremely similar penalty on the first day of the season and there's been at least one more since with another side, can't remember whether those two should have been pens or not but they were definitely similar situations and caused a lot of controversy. Yet no one has come out and explained what is and isn't a handball in those situations. It needs clarifying. Just like what is a defender allowed to do when a striker backs into him while the ball is in the air. Half the time it's a free kick for jumping over him and half the time the free kick goes the other way for backing in. No one seems to have any idea where the boundaries are for these rules. Mike Riley needs to ****ing do something.
Its gone.. Move on...But do remember the name 'Michael Oliver'....There is little wonder fans are getting turned off football and the PL in general, when you have numpty officials like this...The FA/FL etc have got to weed out these idiots and fast track ex-pros into the reffing game. They might have a bit upstairs and some common sense unlike Oliver and that idiot at Everton last week. Disgraceful. PS...Holloway was RIGHT.
