you're right Proph, no such thing as bad publicity in the media business. Lets hope he stays there where he understands whats going on and doesn't try to get re-involved in footie management where he doesn't

with regard to Jenkins I think that so far he has done very well. When he arrived the club was on the bones of its arse but he knew that the investment was there and needed a good administrator to pull things together. He has done that.
He had had his say and his way on staff at the stadium, on the appointment of Manager and on press releases etc. So far as I can see none of those decision can yet be said to be wrong.
He was invited to do the job of steadying the ship and then steering it onwards. We haven't hit any rocks yet, and I think the further he goes the calmers the waters will be at Director and media levels. Now let him give MM the cash and the backing to make it right on the pitch too, and I'm sure within reason he will achieve that too.
a good first term with a lot of potential is my view.

Look here Proph, how do you know I'm not a florist in my spare time? - I quite like flower arranging...........<laugh>

As far as the thread is concerned, it seems we all think Gethin is doing a great job. To be fair to the guy, he's been fast-tracked into the hot seat with the departure of The Riddler, and the boy has done good.

Like I said in the OP, still wonder though who's brokering the deals with these players and their often parasitic agents - if it is Gethin, then he's learnt a lot faster than I would have given him credit for. Just hope that any inexperience in that direction doesn't mean we are paying over the top for any of them.

Does anyone sometimes wonder why all these players are so keen to come to Cardiff? (apart from the fact that we ARE the famous Cardiff City)

I said elsewhere Sparkey, the old regime laid down some solid fundations in terms of infrastructure. Couple that with the steady improvement in league postion and a manager who appears to have a lot of plaudits and it's an attractive proposition for aspiring players. <cheers>

Not to mention the attractive wallets of our owners. :emoticon-0136-giggl

With regard to Shearer, as the saying goes, there is no such thing as bad publicity. Along with others on here I believe he did make his failed attempt to become manager public. So crack Shearer and I am thankful the powers that be did not appoint the lemon.
I am impressed with Gethin, he seems to have all the right attributes and has brought the bluebirds on in leaps and bounds after the Riddlers days in charge. I will even say this appears to be the most professional front the club has had in many years, long may it continue.
So a big well done and many thanks to Gethin Jenkins, the Malaysians and the long standing board members who have got us where we are today.

Shearer was absolutely right not to touch your Club. "Arrogant"? Don't make me laugh. He's a winner, not an also-ran. Took one look and said 'I'm off'. Cardiff fans shouldn't be laughing at Shearer they should be wondering why he did that after hearing your Board's plans and their targets. Earnie?? FFS! If you couldn't do it last time with the talent you had.......

    Top man. <ok>

Top man? Lousy record as a manager and a bit of a knob as a TV pundit.

What are the Swans plans and targets - they seem to be missing more targets than hitting at present?
