Its okay I'm bringing this back down to Earth because I thought Wilson was absolute ****ing **** last night, looked 2 yards off the pace and couldn't wait for him to get subbed off for Wood

 

Ye are all fooking high giving Longstaff praise, the guy is muck and no semi final is gonna sugar coat it

 

I still agree that ASM with Joelinton behind and Longstaff dropped is better.

Also think Isak looks twice the player Wilson is right now.

 

I would like to see us try that formation at least. Big Joe back into midfeld alongside Bruno and Willock, ASM, Isak & Miggy up front. Could be quite a tasty line-up with plenty of energy & movement. Would hopefully create (and take) plenty of chances.

 

Not right now tbh, ASM looks like at best a luxury player to bring on at the end, and starting him is just a liability pure and simple. His mazy runs don't suit the team anymore, and other teams are wise of him now and he loses the ball too much.

Longstaff is a grafter and a fighter and has upped his game enough to be a regular part of the first team.... one of the weaker players yes, but we definitely need him and not ASM in the real now.

 

I like Joelinton at the front, his attacking was awesome last night, and that position also gives him the opportunity to drop back into midfield and do the dirty stuff.

It's allowing Willock to really own that midfield role, and Willock's doing great there.

 

It was a bit Wizard Of Oz when Isak came on, ie everything suddenly went from black & white to colour, in the sense of going from a clapped out old banger to the latest top of the range model.

Buzzing allllll night long! Thought everyone played sooo well, no one below a 7. Big Joe was 100% man of the match, closely followed by Little Joe.

Do think the 5.5 rating is really harsh on Longstaff, for the one miss in the first 60 seconds people seem to neglect the next 95 mins played people were raging about the bookings in the first half but I'd give Longstaff an extra (1) just for the booking! Great pro foul stopping a dangerous counter (same with BDB's) and overall he did what we needed of him last night, great great legs so far this season - has anyone played more mins than him since he got into the team?

Luckily Leicester were awful because that had all the hall markings of SW on Saturday in the first half - loads of chances and could have been out of sight in the first 10 mins but missed chances and it could have cost us. Flip side if we keep making that many opportunities in games we will score goals despite the ****e finishing.

Once ASM and Isak are fully fit and a signing or two in this window that squad is seriously exciting! Krafth, Targett and Shelvey all out still as well, all make the bench when fit and give us some serious options to change things up. Just waiting now for a day when Jacob Murphy doesn't HAVE to get a run out!

 

Yeah, Murphy came on and managed to look like a pitch invader. So, so lost and clueless, incredibly out of his depth, seems to get worse each week and wasn't starting from a particularly high bar!! He's one of seven we desperately need shot of, alongside Wood, Lewis, Lascelles, Ritchie, Shelvey and Fraser.

 

We need to keep Lascelles just to see how many yellows he can get from the bench.

 

Yeah it's insane how he keeps getting run outs. I'd rather Anderson was given those 5-10 mins here and there - especially out wide where he can get players 1v1 and have a run at people.

Agree with the list there as well - keep saying 6 players in over the next two windows and we are golden - pretty much to replace those listed above (although I'd keep Shelvey as 6th choice CM and loan out Anderson 2nd half of the season and replace him in the summer). Crazy we have 3 wingers we don't need and ASM, Miggy and I guess Isak to play out there as well.

 

We have totally usurped Leicester - a few years ago they finished 5th in consecutive seasons, having had a chance at to 3 right until the end. They've fallen away and are a shadow of themselves, and we've taken their place.

Tell you what needs replacing though, the tannoy bloke, plays crap music and gets the timing for things wrong, what the **** was that poem he was reading at half time yesterday.
