Not a chance. Governments have a mandate for 5 years, we can’t keep having elections every couple of months, which is what would happen if these kind of things worked.
She is a very very unpleasant person. Far more dangerous than Starmer IMHO. I’m very disappointed that she has been given a senior post.
Absolutely this - but you left out all the £millions extra for the NHS. I fking hate Brexit with every fibre of my being, but even the dwindling number of Brexiteers would probably agree that the utopia they were promised has failed to deliver. We Remainers knew it would be **** - and it is. The poor Brexiteers believed all that bollocks and have been left with a pile of poo (and so have we). Not the Brexit that they thought they would get. …… and that’s before Starmer.
Getting towards 2,000,000 votes now This won’t force an election unfortunately, but it might make them get their heads out of the sand and recognise there is genuine anger about the way they are handling things
They know it’s unpopular, but they would say necessary, taking the tough decisions. that’s why they’ve done it so early, they’re hoping the benefits will be seen in time for the next election.
Giving their mates in the public sector above inflation pay rises was a stupid and unnecessary decision Giving countries like Brazil and India money is beyond ridiculous As is penalising OAPs and Farmers
Looks like Musk's army of bots have been busy when you look at where the signatures have come from. please log in to view this image
BUT amongst them [ might be over 200 actually ] none has any prior "political swing / knowledge/ experience" so will just be glad to pad out their amazing gift of being gifted a massive salary and chunk of pension when voted out after 4 years!
dont forget there are many ex pats around the world..... even if you subtract all that are non uk mainland still well over a million
It is all rather pointless. Debates on petitions are normally held in Westminster Hall, not the Chamber. See today when they are discussing school holidays during term time. Petitions are discussed as the law states they should be, but most of them finish without a vote, as there is no chance of the government of the day losing.
You’re entitled to your view. The public sector pay deal was deliberately not dealt with by the last administration in the knowledge the next government would have to deal with it and therefore take the flak. Sorting out the pay deals were needed to stand any chance of getting our public services back on an even keel, and sorting out the NHS. The last government chickened out of these decisions.
I’ve always likened running the country with running your household. You invest time into earning money and you have a budget according to your income and you try and live within the constraints of that income. In life you need to pay for repairs to your house and for your car (transport/infrastructure). If you fail to maintain your house or mode of transportation then it will ultimately fail and the costs will be considerably higher. You should keep everything you have got running smoothly before trying to expand. Same as a business. The Conservative government failed to invest in essential public services and the result was a crumbling infrastructure and an extremely unhappy and demotivated workforce. You can only ignore these things for a certain amount of time before it starts biting hard. It’s like ignoring that leak in the roof or that strange noise from your car or washing machine - one day you will have to invest a lot of money just to get back to where you were before. Personally I don’t have an issue with paying teachers, the police and health workers a proper wage. What I absolutely DO have a problem with is how and where from the government is raising the money. Hitting pensioners and farmers is absolutely fking wrong and I’m very unhappy about it. I suppose pensioners and farmers are traditional Tory voters so Starmer is only hurting people who would never vote for him anyway - which makes party political sense, but is morally wrong and irresponsible. I’ve said before the easiest and pain free way of raising reviews through the licensing and taking of class B recreational drugs. It’s so obvious to me. That would boost the coffers, reduce crime and free up the police.
