Pretty sure he was willing to take a pay cut, and did you think that when he was scoring against Liverpool and Arsenal?

Who said he was an attacking midfielder? He's never been renowned for his goalscoring.

I'm just pig sick that after all his 'cyber badge kissing' and the fans singing his name he's gone at the first sign of a better offer. Although you could never question his commitment on the pitch, even if/when he was trying to engineer a move away.

The media have in the past, and I'm sure he was seen as that type of season during his last season at Man City.

He's always been more defensive than attacking. Typical box-to-box, but definitely with more of a defensive side

I think te point of the article is if we had NO ties to Barton so buying him for the first time, we wouldn't
    A) Because of his baggage
    B) Because of his wage demands

All this "Plenty of interst from big clubs" all proved to be hot air. It speaks volumes when not even the like of Everton, Villa or even Wolves came calling.

Fat Mike also has in place the wage caps and age limits for a reason, what's the point in putting them in place if he is going to break them the first time someone tries to push it?

Might not be popular with people but it cuts out the signing of mercenaries on daft wages at the end of their career (not saying Barton is) e.g. Smith

Class player and will be missed, but do get the feeling he has been playing the media and us for chumps with his Twatter comments.
