All I can say is this.

I've been on my way to certain away games and the atmosphere in the car has been a bit flat.
We've got into a pub and there'd be some daft lads singing the songs and having a laugh.
It's infectious and it raises your mood, by the time you get into the ground you're chanting and noticing how it encourages other people to join in.
That has an effect on the opposition supporters, your own and also the players.

It's not fantasy, it happens ....... so does the reverse when the miseries start whinging and predicting doom, it just brings everyone down.
You can see that effect even on boards like this until it gets to the point where the slightest optimism is attacked.
Then the tired old clichés are trotted out 'gullible fools' 'holding the club back' 'club lackeys' etc etc etc.

It's only October and we've played some bloody difficult games with the club and team in turmoil.
We have a new manager who's obviously learning about the players very quickly.
We have some games that are more winnable than Man Utd, Arsenal etc.
I'm sure the majority of supporters will at least show some class & dignity and have a little hope mixed in with the realism.

I can imagine the feeling of pride if, after all the **** we've suffered, we go on a run that lifts us clear of the dogfight and go through to the next round of the cup.
It can happen if we all pull together. I despise some of the players, at the moment, but I'll be there next week cheering every one of them.

Yes it's daft but we've been daft for years ....... why change now?

Been trying it for years mate, my team is still pants I don't have a million in the bank and it's still ****ing raining.
Agree with Smug about the infectious daft lads but, by the time that does happen many fire waters have passed into guts so people are less inhibited. So if PMA is some sort of strong beer then bring it on we could all do with it.

it's minus 5 here dude, and i'm a bit skint n'arl. PMA is a tough ask for our lot, but i'll be feeling a lot more positive if Gus drops the hasbeens from our teamsheet and puts them in their place.

I'm off to Prague at the weekend and will watch the derby with some old pals, although a couple of them are Mags.doesn't look good right now, but you never know. just as long as we give it a good ****ing go.

a good few pivos of Pilsner tends to enhance the mood.

You see mate it's not PMA (which just sounds like women's problems) it's alcohol which is the way forward.
