Ferriby won 2-3 tonight and went back to top of the league on goal difference.

I really don't see that - 2 relegation rivals got 4 points from 2 very tough away games. Why exactly do people think we're safe?

The logic is simple, we have 10 wins.

Yes, Fulham are safe too.

Palace hardly relegation rivals. Sunderland only managed 1 point, not the 3 they may well have had. Fixtures remaining in our favour - Sunderland, Norwich and WBA/Cardiff in peril.
Everton 5th at best after tonight. Where's the problem ?

Because we have a game in hand, are 6 points above 18th place or 7 points above 18th if you count goal differential with only a few left to play. We are not mathematically safe but in reality we are safe. We probably dont need any more points to be safe but one win would certainly be enough. Also Crystal Palace are not in danger of being relegated and Sunderland already are relegated. So neither team can realistically relegate us.

Ok, so we lose on Sunday & Fulham win, they pick up a point the following week, when we lose at Villa with a dodgy penalty, then go to Fulham who's momentum has them snatch a vital goal at the death taking them above us, obviously Villa would also be above us as they beat us. Yes we're safe, in the great Europa League, in the Cup Final, doesn't matter that we have dropped 2 places in the league because our minds were on the Cup Final, it's only cost us a couple of million due to slipping down the league, oh then there's Palace who went clear of us & got safe weeks ago, which is another 900k or so that we lost out on. As long as we beat Everton just to make sure Arse get 4th, nothing to do with us getting back up a couple of places, just so we can guarantee a place in the ****ing Europa League & start playing qualifying rounds against teams from Sweden & Croatia in July. Doesn't even matter if we win the Cup really because everyone's dream has been realised of playing in Europe.
Give me a ****ing break from this ****!

You asked why people think we are safe. You didnt ask for a debate on anything else.

Also if you dont want to hear about other peoples thoughts or opinions why dont you just delete your account. Its a public forum for ****s sake. If you are tired of this "****" then feel free. I dont personally give a **** if you are on this forum or not.

Didn’t see the game, but looks like Sunlan came close to getting 3 pts.

All in all a very creditable draw though.

Haven’t looked at their forums yet, but I’m guessing that they’re now all 100% back on the ‘Gus Bus’, crying with pride as they type and 1000% definitely staying up marra.

All completely sincere, until the next time.

That result will give Sunderland fans just enough of an illusion that they can still stay up

Whatever happens Steve Bruce is to blame . Most deluded fans on not606

Norwich ? Sun'lan ?, WBA ? Cardiff ? Walk us through them then. We can have it all. 5/6 wins out of our final games...perfect on all fronts. A bunch of absolutely freak results to bugger up our 1) survival, 2) European expeditions ?
What are they ?

seconded. much like he did at Stoke, who I thought were way more likely to go down than us first time around in the PL.

Somebodies a bit pissy, besides the money you quote would be replaced by money won from the cup and europa qualification. I don't see your big problem with playing in europe anyway?
