Should have stopped at vaguely critical. Now its criminal. We all don't know we can't defend ... Not everybody shares your WE. You clearly are not behind the team and manager because our we is supportive right now.
So I can't say that I am angry because IMHO, I don't think that we adopted the right approach then. Perhaps it wouldn't matter so much in a single game in a normal season but of course this was no ordinary game and this is no ordinary season - this game was one in which the loser would have their survival hopes severely damaged. It wasn't so much a 6 pointer, more like a 12 pointer and we went into it with completely the wrong attitude and it could prove oh so costly.... As for we don't all know we can't defend away from home, all I've got to say is that the table doesn't lie....
City are still in with a shout ... I like shouting. Herbert Chapmans W formation and rush goalie last game it is.
As long as the maths allow us a chance then we have a chance. POB - you must feel a bit like I did when I was supporting GJ a couple of seasons ago and a significant minority wanted him out. As soon as he went I supported the succession of incumbents and will continue to do so.
I don't want SoD out, far from it - my gripe is the lack of ambition at Wolves, when we needed to be bold, we were timid and paid the price and it is going to be very difficult now... He who dares, etc....
Prem or bust is right. We were too timid at Wolves; hanging on all second half to a one goal lead is no good. Because those who understand football know it is almost impossible to get a team to change during a game from totally defensive to all out attack. So as soon as Wolves scored, there was only going to be one result at the end! This is not being critical of SO'D. It's just commonsense. Just because he is our Head Coach does not mean that we all have to subserviently agree with all of his decisions and tactics. And disagreeing with him does not mean we do not support our club. For pity's sake, I've supported this club since April 1950. I've followed them away at such diverse places as Old Trafford, Highbury, Sincil Bank on a wet Tuesday night, Northampton on a Sunday afternoon 1-7, driven all the way to Southampton in the 70's for an FA Cup tie that was postponed because of snow. Anfield, Gigg Lane; I've seen them at over 70 league grounds and between 1960 and 2005 missed only a handful of matches both home and away. And unlike all of you younger ones, I have seen SIX RELEGATION SEASONS and I never wanted to see another one in my lifetime. But sh1t happens, I'll be there for Bolton and Brum and again next season whichever league we are in. So stop telling me I'm wrong to say we gave it up to Wolves too easily. They were there for the taking and we well and truly blew it! And deep down you all know that is true!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have seen five [?] relegation seasons! Some of which there was hardly anything to have faith in. I think you are utterly wrong, nothing deep about it. Blowing it would be panicking, knee jerking game to game as previously happened. City have picked up some good habits and experienced an upturn in form. Those habits should not be abandoned because it was not so recently that a two goal lead would not have secured a point. Sowing doubt now serves no purpose, it does not galvanise anything. Sowing doubt can harm, convince enough and it can cause harm. Convince enough that a wave of optimism, fans being supportive, fans urging the team on is the most obvious course to take now certainly won't harm anything.
Gerry has now left West Street and is in the EE near the goal. Might want to wrap it around a goal one half.
No work. Few Addlestones. More post match. Can't help but look forward to it. When the moon shines indeed.
Excellent news. But what would Gerry Gow offer as words of advice to fans? I think he would look fans firmly in the eye and offer this steely sage like advice, "You are the cream of fandom, this is not time for tea biscuits, get out there right NOW!" Those with true grit will be out on it AM ... Tis righteous work.
Great to see the stadium full. Entertaining game, but things didnt go our way. They had one chance and put it away. The linesman in front of the Wedlock was truly dreadful, and the referee was a bit of a twat. Wednesday were there for the taking but we could not take it.
