I don't think we were Gervinho's first choice, but he held talks with us, so he was obviously considering us. However, if he wasn't giving a straight answer, and his attitude was poor, then our management could have easily pulled out of the deal first. We're a big club compared to some, and we're bigger than any individual player (especially Gervinho). I'd hope that our club would NEVER bow down to any player and pussyfoot around in the hope of being chosen. You Arsenal fellas seem to find him average, and whilst we would consider him very good for us, he isn't some revolutionary megastar. He's had one or two good seasons in Ligue 1, but he's completely unproven over here. I'd probably rank him along the same calibre as N'Zogbia. We've got some ambition now and seem to be pushing high, so the club knows that we can't waste time fannying around with players who are taking too long to make their minds up - regardless of how good they are. I'm glad we've got some balls.
