    I guess we'd all be surprised, yeah. But it's the kind of ambition we need to have that's for sure. May as well aim for the very best (within our price range obviously before any Messi comments come along!!)

    I'd offer Lille 10.5m and Gervinho 50/60k a week, and Lorient 10m and Gameiro 40k a week rising to 50k if other clubs are trying to get him.

    These signings would take some persistence but Kevin Gameiro isn't as good as Daniel sturridge imo.

    I don't think Gameiro is as PROVEN as Sturridge in this league, but he's experience and done well in the french league.

    I'd rather sign Sturriedge aswell, but i can't see it happening for a price that Ashley will be willing to pay <ok>

    Don&#8217;t know if anyone has seen, but on Cheick Tiote&#8217;s Twitter this morning, he posted: &#8220;Hope you like my mate who has joined toon&#8221; See it for yourselves at http://twitter.com/#!/CheikTiote24

    This implies (to me at least) that we may have sealed the deal with an Ivory Coast international, or at the very least an ex-team mate of Tiote&#8217;s.

    Obviously this can&#8217;t be backed up with an official announcement from the club until the transfer window opens, but if the players are talking about it, surely it must be complete. Pretty sure Tiote isn&#8217;t a WUM!

    Thoughts?
