Gervinho Impressed Me Last Season

For the record, despite what some like to claim, everyone here is allowed to have their view - and equally those who don't agree with it are within their right to disagree - that is the basic premise of a football forum after all. It's the nastiness and personal attacks that have no place here. I think some people have confused disagreeing with being attacked, go on the offensive and then we end up in with a cyber bitch fest, there's no need for it

As for Gervinho, I think he's got the raw talent and skill, but his finishing last season was woeful. If he can improve on this, then he's going to be a really deadly player.

 

You are entitled to your opinion of course, but I would look up the meaning of self-righteous before I called people it.

I never set myself up to be the standard. I was actually supporting Zlatan, saying that he hadn't offended me. No one else - just me. It was my line, because it is my yardstick of what offends me. I was using it to contrast why you did offend me. I did not at any point say that I thought they shouldn't post the way they did or tell them not to do anything.

Now I accept that you don't care what offends anyone, you are a self-righteous prick, because you feel that you have a smug moral authority and have the right to tell people when they are wrong and what they should do, like you did me.

 

I think people forget that it is difficult to adapt to the english game but gervinho has real qualities which will allow him to succeed next season, as it came to the end of the season i was very impressed by his overall play. Perhaps he doesn't get stuck in enough but that really isn't his game, all he needs to do is work on his finishing and composure in front of goal and next season he will excel. He glides with the ball goes past defenders with ease, people seemed to forget that because of the good runs that gervinho made rvp had more time on the ball in better positions also opposing defenders are scared to tackle him and there is no doubt that we have a real top quality player on our hands watch this space.

As for Hotty. He was never really a doom merchant. He just got too involved in defending the indefensible (imo) wummers within our own fan base.

He is a good poster, which is why it was surprising for him to be defending our resident wum. As HotHead has been in self-enforced exile, maybe he had only read this topic. I let it go the first few times too, but it's like Zlatan is just going through our team and saying they're all ****e with nothing to back it up (initially). I think the count is up to 4 now. I don't ask for anyone to be silenced or banned, but I think I'm justified in criticising that. It's a different story if you say "this player is awful because..." because then you appear to be something other than a wum. Even then, I held back on criticising the person until the fourth instance.

 

Who does he label shiite?

 

The one's I remember are Vermaelen, Gibbs, Santos and now Gervinho. I can't remember what was said about Walcott and Song. ...And I'll reiterate that whether they're shiite or not, it's the lack of any justification that makes the posts wumlike.

 

Vermaelen is quality. Gibbs is average. Santos, ok. But Gervinho is shocking. Walcott is dangerous at times, as he possesses unmatched speed and a good finish. Song is a liability.

Although, TheZlatan guy is no doubt an idiot. But what justifications should he give? You mean a detailed explanation?

 

Just a few words to justify calling an Arsenal player awful on an Arsenal supporter board, like "Gervinho is awful because he can't hit the back of the net". You've said above "Song is a liability" which suggests some consideration of Song's ability to do his particular job in the team, which is more than just saying he's shiite. Whether he claims to be an Arsenal fan or not, making posts like that on the Arsenal board is going to piss people off, hence the WUM tag. I mean seriously, I could create another not606 account, call myself a Spurs fan, and just slag of their players on their board if I wanted to.

 

Just because this is an Arsenal supporting board, doesn't mean we have to be completely biased in our judgement, we are allowed to criticise players, and and we shouldn't be labeled 'WUM' just because of it.

You know, one of the reasons we haven't had any success in recent years is because some of our players aren't good enough?
