Provokation is not an adequate reason for reacting like Gervinho did. It doesn't matter how a big a **** you think someone is, going and hitting them is still wrong. Don't get me wrong, the way that Barton acted was the epitome of hypocrisy. If you let your emotions control you, what kind of a man are you? I've got no respect for either of them.
Last time someone got sent off in the opening game of the season in an Arsenal game their career went to ****. Good luck Gervinho you cheating sly bastard.
I justify Barton's dive because I understand why he did it. He saw Gervinho as cheating to win a penalty and that of course would hinder Newcastle. What Gervinho did was unsportsmanlike and so in response Barton over reacted and did the same thing. He obviously tried to cheat in reaction to Gervinho. It doesn't make it right but I understand it. An eye for an eye and all that.
