In the first minute he went over in a challenge near the goal line and came out of it holding his ankle. Signalled to the bench and the sub started warming up but he continued to play and didn't have to get any help from the physio. He kept making signals to the bench as the half progressed, looked like he was trying to say it just needed strapping. Obviously must have been worse than he thought when he went in at half time, or it stiffened up during the break.

It might have had something to do with the signal he was giving to the cardiff fans
If you saw them tapping their heads, thats their calling sign and he did it to them about 10 mins before half time, I read that as he was informing them that he'd rather be there than here, hope I'm wrong.

That head tapping routine is something to do with Sam Hammam, ex chairman of Wimbledon.

antony gerrard is a true football player.the lad would run through a wall for whichever team he was playing for.hes only on loan and look at the effort he puts in.

The tapping are hands on our heads is the ayatollah. The players that like/love cardiff often do it. Gerrard is a very passionate player and we cardiff fans like him. Gives 100% and is committed to every challenge. He throws himself at everything. He's a fans player. Earnshaw is an example as he always does the ayatollah when asked by the crowd. Gerrard will always give 100% wherever he is, never question that.

I agree he'll want to. I wasn't aware of his apparent injury, but he was shocking on Saturday. Can't say I blame him though, it seemed ridiculous that we'd play him, his head can't possibly have been right for it.

He's owned by one club that's going for automatic promotion. He knows if they go up he probably won't be wanted by the manager but that he'll be on a contract that will make him for life. He's then being asked to play against them for another club going for promotion (playoffs) knowing that they want to sign him, but that like his parent club if they get promoted they probably won't want to. If Cardiff go upp he's not wanted but on a big contract. If we went up he'd be at Cardiff next season on a smaller contract
