What i'm saying is it was a loaded question dave, a negative response from Gerrard would have brought 'Gerrard admits Liverpool's season is over' as the headline.
Not really, but i bet you cried when he rallied us on to victory in 2005. please log in to view this image
Gerrard: We can challenge for fourth Easily and if you keep getting better you will..... but next season you have a better chance at the title than you have had for years.....Afew more players and you will crack it....
You're taking a chance posting something positive on our board Dai, dilli will have your guts for garters. But fair play mate.
Just had a quick look at the remaining fixtures for our rivals challenging for 3rd and 4th place. I've picked out potentially tough games, and there are quite a few. Chelsea Spurs Everton Arsenal man city (a) arsenal (h) man utd (a) spurs (a) spurs (h) liverpool (a) arsenal (a) everton (h) liverpool (a) everton (h) man city (h) man utd (h) man utd (a) chelsea (a) spurs (a) everton (h) man city (h) liverpool (a) stoke (a) chelsea (a) Spurs and Arsenal both have Swansea away also. Lots to play for eh!
Unlikely to get 4th, and we need both a massively on form run of games AND for the other teams to drop points. But, if you look at our remaining games and theirs, you have to say that they're easily capable of dropping points along the way. With the way we played against Arsenal (for 60mins) and against City, we can beat anyone on our day if we can cut the individual errors. Gerrard's right to state the positive target of 4th. It's possible, just slight. Also, his 30yard rocket goals make me hard. He can rally cry all he likes too!
Bunch of wallies mate...they are like children really so i treat them like one They would not accept the facts if it hit them square in the face...sad really as its only a game of football and not life or death.....
Yes i would agree if the 3rd 4th 5th and 6th teams were consistent but they are not and i follow all games and there is nobody better than liverpool at the moment so i cant see no reason why liverpool cant get 4th. I was confident that we can finish in the top 8 if we had brought a striker in but laudrups inexperience failed him and we missed the boat, I cant see us doing that now but we are comfortable i think anyway and should not have to many problems. ...Im hoping that we can beat brendans record of 11th but even though its not over till the fat lady sings its highly unlikely now with little fire power...
Remaining PL fixtures for teams in contention for 4th place, highest to lowest off current PL positions: Chelsea: Wigan (H), Man City (A), West Brom (H), Fulham (A), West Ham (H), Southampton (A), Sunderland (H), Tottenham (H), Liverpool (A), Swansea (H), Man Utd (A), Aston Villa (A), Everton (H) Spurs: Newcastle (H), West Ham (A), Arsenal (H), Liverpool (A), Fulham (H), Swansea (A), Everton (H), Chelsea (A), Man City (H), Wigan (A), Southampton (H), Stoke (A), Sunderland (H) Everton: Man Utd (A), Norwich (A), Reading (H), Arsenal (A), Man City (H), Stoke (H), Tottenham (A), QPR (H), Sunderland (A), Fulham (H), Liverpool (A), West Ham (H), Chelsea (A) Arsenal: Sunderland (A), Aston Villa (H), Tottenham (A), Everton (H), Swansea (A), Reading (H), West Brom (A), Norwich (H), Fulham (A), Man Utd (H), QPR (A), Wigan (H), Newcastle (A) Mighty Reds: West Brom (H), Swansea (H), Wigan (A), Tottenham (H), Southampton (A), Aston Villa (A), West Ham (H), Reading (A), Chelsea (H), Newcastle (A), Everton (H), Fulham (A), QPR (H) So, as you can see from our remaining games, we have to play all the teams in the hunt for fourth (apart from Arsenal) which should all be pretty tight games because of that fact; also we have to play an apparently resurgent Newcastle away, a Swansea side who because of the Rodgers/Allen factor will want to get one over on us, and finally QPR on the last day of the season who will potentially need a big result and performance to stay up. Personally I'm staying positive until the maths won't allow it, but it's going to be butt clenchingly close if we do get there.
Just saw the last few pages on the 'Graham' thread on your board, the way i see it the majority of Swans fans on there can't see any wrong in ML or the players(except when they have the audacity/ambition to leave)and gang up on you because you highlight the frailties they overlook, also your interest in your previous managers progress is understandable but to them Rodgers is a demon and should only be ridiculed. We often discuss former managers/players/owners on here and the comments aren't always favourable but i can't believe the mods on there allow you to get slated in a cowardly manner by the mob yet they've given you a 'warning' for saying something they find negative about ML. As you say Dai they act like children.
