At least as plausible as UIR's skewed interpretation.

Is Gerrard capable of going a week without laying into Rodgers or anyone else associated with the club now or previously? For someone who loves Liverpool, surely he realises that it's just putting the club in poor light.

You sort of expect it when a player leaves in not the best way, which arguably he did and his book release was probably already set to this date wherever Gerrard happened to be, it's just the added insider info on his last season with Rodgers that wouldn't have made it in there obviously.

I don't know what's more cringy. The fact Rodgers is asking players to text potential (or unrealistic) transfers, or the fact that Gerrard is telling all this to the press <doh>

He's not telling anything to the press, it's extracts from his book that the press have hand picked and put out there <doh>

You're splitting hairs. He's embarrassing himself and the club unnecessarily. I really don't get why ex-players tarnish their reps like this.

Can't they take things out before it goes to print(or add to it if need be)?

He should of proof read it and thought of the consequences, but hey he's a Hollywood z-lister.

There's plenty of other **** he HAS said to the press. As for the book, what Page said.

He hasn't tarnished his reputation with me. I haven't read many footie autobiographies but players putting them out while they're still playing is daft in itself.

tbh I don't read all this gossipy stuff, it's of no interest to me. If he'd brought it out several years after he retired, I may have had a gander, then again .... probably not <laugh>

Considering Fergie's achievements I thought his book was embarrassing to Utd.

Not point scoring but the hatchet jobs on Gerrard and Henderson were uncalled for, but as Gerrard and others have shown Fergie's not in a minority of one.

Hodder-Williams had to refund some complaining readers after Fergus's book was found to have over 45 factual errors and this amongst the reviews by football journalists - ''The overriding feeling left over from Ferguson’s book is that it lacked class. By attacking former players, like Keane, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Owen Hargreaves, the Scot has derided players who remain heroes at Old Trafford. No football fan wants to see club legends—players they have worshipped—dragged through the mud, yet Ferguson felt the need to do that. '' ... I would say Gerrard's in good company then but I don't know if I could go that far ............ <laugh>

Dare I say bcos you'll defend him regardless. But to anyone reading this book it is self-depricating, lacks class and gives ample ammunition to laugh at him and the club. Not exactly loyal imo. Why do it? Not just him but many legends like to dish the dirt after they leave. And I'd happily include Roy Keane in that.

Was there a chapter denying what Japp Stam said in his book about Fergie tapping him up and being told by Fergie to dive in European games?

Well done, you see ppl do laugh at it. And right now thousands are laughing at Gerrard's.

Ofcourse the difference is Fergie's bollox is about his ego. Gerrard's is about his and Liverpool's failures <whistle>

A lot of clubs will use the best players to help persuade players to join. It's not uncommon, and given Rodgers is hardly an appealing manager to work for, I would expect Gerrard to be used as an attraction.

The problem I have are his comments re. Rafa. Rafa has since come out and said he wouldn;t say anything because he didn't want to disrespect Gerrard or the club. The club could really do with someone with his ability and class.

You can say what you like, you usually do - I've never defended Gerrard over anything and I'm not defending him over this, I just have no interest in gossipy tittle tattle by anybody. Out of interest, while we're on the subject - How tarnished did your club feel following fergie's tell-all books?

Haven't you noticed Trebs, we've been laughing at Gerrard's tome ourselves.<whistle>

But your excuse for Fergie's insults being his ego talking are very UIR'esque.:bandit:
