Would be much wiser of us to not give him a new deal and let him go to Bayern or Real and become a star on the cheap I think you know no-one is expecting Raheem to replace Stevie either... No-one can really. Today's available 'star' midfielders - Khedira, Strootman, Vidal etc all nothing like how good Gerrard and Scholes were. Anddd they wouldn't come here regardless. I hope we don't replace him and end up with three competent midfielders instead of one brilliant one.
The meeja and the haters will spend the next 6 months banging on about how Gerrard will be impossible to replace and what a massive blow him leaving is going to be for Liverpool. The fact is he shouldn't be in the Liverpool starting XI anymore so he won't be that much of a miss! If anything this season with him in the team / squad has been more problematic than next season will be!
