Gerrard tweeted after the game that he did not want to play due to his back injury. NP made him play. Does that jog your memory a little ?

If my memory serves me well, wasn't his tweet something like "us footballers get paid too much to kick a ball round a field so we should have to play through the pain" which I took as a dig at some of these foreign pansies who roll around on the floor crying for mummy and refusing to play, rather than a dig at NP.

Theres no way Hobbs and Chester should be split up if we can keep them so we need a backup centre-back, not sure Gerrard would fancy that role given his out-spoken tendencies

 

oh well. it was also the case for the final game @ Bristol City as he had a problem with a foot injury.

we shall just have to wait and see what happens in the summer re. Mr Anthony Gerrard.

i would agree that he would have to wait his chance behind those 2. but IF we got say Turner back i would like NB to try a 3 - 5 -2 formation. using dawson & rosie as wing backs more than full backs.

Harry used that system yesterday with Spurs for long periods.

 

oh he did. he was not happy with having to play either the DQPR or Bristol City games. it did surpise me as i thought they got on. the body language between the pair after Bristol was also a tell tale sign for those who were there.

They only way we will sign Gerrard is if either of our current two are poached (likely to be the case)

 

Only if we dont go up. Then again this is football so nothing is ever certain. On the current market value and as a pair i would say £10million plus add ons before i would even answer the phone or fax. I remain possitive that we shall be back in the PL come August 2012.

 

I agree. There were a couple of disagreements with Hull City towards the end of last season and he couldn't get away quick enough, NP didn't try to stop him going back to Cardiff. I wouldn't like him to come here and have disagreements with Nick in the same way as he has with Mackay it might cause a dressing room problems.
